Freestyle is just an afterthought?

Yeeeahh, I definitely believe that in order for there to be an official "Canadian" tournament thingy that there should be some certain sort of an organization behind it. Have fun with your cup, I think I'll wait till the CFPA starts up.

Well for all the eastern shredders that came to shredmonton last year... (zero) it might as well be a net only event

. However, Kevin and I will be organizing the freestyle portion of the jam indepentently of the net tournament. It's going to be (once again) awesome sauce. Details will be posted as we finalize things such as venues, accomodations, ect. Don't expect $1000 in prize money though

Events:

Footbag Net - Open Singles Footbag Net - Open Doubles

You do some wierd math man, we have different versions of half I guess.

With net players in charge I wouldn't trust the setup.

Freestyle players should organize freestyle events.

This the Canada Cup of Footbag NET.

Yeah, I might want to clarify...Rory pretty much summed it up, but yes, it's the Canada Cup of Footbag NET, and ShrEdmonton 2006 is coinciding with it.

So there's "two" events happening at the same time...to make one event.

My math -----> Half of two is one.

We're hardly telling Ben to organize both net and freestyle.

OH COME ON!!! This sucks!

Why is SHREDMONTON always the same weekend as my convention in Saskatoon???

Grr . . . oh well . . . there's another event I won't be able to attend.

Sorry, i don't have anything constructive to add . . . I like the idea of a Canadian Organization and would help in any way I could.

The reason it doesnt have freestyle listed is i dont know from rory and kevin what events for freestyle there will be...

There is an official organization behind
Alberta Footsports. Provincially incorped, running for 4 years now.

Is there an official organization behind every event you go to? (Do you go to only IFPA events?).

I suppose I was a bit unclear. I meant that if I were to attend an "Official Canadian Championship Tournament" type deal, I'd prefer for it to be more...uhhh...official? Like, it's cool that the Alberta footbag crew has been around and official for four years and everything, but Alberta doesn't represent all of Canada...right?

Fair Enough, but to set the record straight, ive never said this was an official championship in any way. I just liked the name Canada Cup as I said earlier as a sort of throwback to the Canada Cup of hockey, plus the trphy i have for net is a cup

ben, Big props for what you're doing out there, what with funding, prize money and getting every thing put up already! well done! i think certain people out there in freestyle land should give them selves a good shake and start throwing out some props instead of sarcastic remarks.
