so I was really pissed at work today because I did'nt play footbag on my break..
well not that, but because I received a really frustrating email.. so I walk left and right all pissed and go outside and decide to kick in pants for 5 minutes.. its not a good idea here since its so warm but I think wathever I need to cool down and kicking will only help

so I kick, do mini clippers.. wich I think could fit nicely in a routine..
then I go for some rev swirls.. they go fine.. I think rev swirling osis.. hit the move a lot before but always clearly THE and uncontrolled

BAM first try super clean and nice straight set, was I happy

the email is still frustrating, but some hapyness is in the air

and since no one cares about this blog beside me; might as well add this too
BUMP! :D

Hey Mat!
Word up my man. Glad to hear all is going well with you. I hope Africa is treating you well. I just wanted to drop a line and say "hi". I finally am back in New Orleans, and it feels really good to be here. That weekend in Seattle when all of you stayed over is still a topic of conversation among my friends. That was really frigen fun.
Its cool to see how your game has improved since I saw you. As for me, I've certainly made marked improvements. I'm going "tiltless" now, which feels really good. Stringing stuff together is really just straight awesome. My number of moves hasn't expanded too drastically, but I hit them all pretty clean. Working on getting Osis down right now... Its taking far too long. Anyways, just wanted to say hi, and wish you the best on your travels. Take it easy, my man.

Peace and Smiles,
Dan

wow dan good to hear from you!
I think about that weekend so often, it was so much fun!

on a personal note I had a small outside session yesterday, worked on spinning ducking
well.. spin duck osis both sides (already hit those) but one was consistent and clean, flip was harder.. but it was done

then flip spin duck buterfly :D

so I now have two 5 add moves that I can hit both sides!

dyno is geting better, they stop flying 3 feet away
osis>osis> dyno
almost spining dyno! I should work on far dyno..

small 30 min session outside
almost bigwalk.. I can do clean surging sets out of osis only; out of clipper the set is not straight..
footed bigwalk
set needs a little more height..
also footed janiwalker with a good set.. high as a step! but no uptime after 2nd dex..

I was waiting on my girlfriend to arrive; so I was thinking flip double downs sucked.. so I put on some lavers and decide to try a couple.. didnt even hit one.. then I go for dyno; they fly away a lot.. so I move to rev whirl; a move Ive never come close to.. I was surprisingly close, footed a couple, but realised I was doing it uptime, so I tought why not symposium..

well bam! symp rev whirl is mine :D

flip dyno
dyno > handcatch > flip dyno> handcatch
some long strings with some 2's and mostly 3's
one good attempt to spin ducking mirage

I need to reconsider my good clipper; the sets are not good compared to flip..
I looked at all my flip step moves on camera.. really bad, its not stepping; its crap, i cant step for shit, I need to work on this so much
flip pixie is there at least.. and I can do a good set every time if I really try, Im just having troubles having support leg on tip of the toes on the set to get a good set..

I guess Im progressing well.. but I'm loosing interest in footbag right now with the lack of external motivation..
I guess I took all my motivation juice and I'm getting no support from anyone.. there is no new video pumping me for a while.. I watched jordens last video at least 10 times and I have nothing else to watch.. internet is really slow and it takes forever to download a movie..

I dont know why I'm thinking this, footbag is the thing I like the most, but someting is missing and I can't figure out what.. anyways.. Next week I'll probably be playing 6 times in 7 days and have forgot about all this

if you can hit dyno, then you're ready for some new 5-adds, like pixie ss (or op) dyno and stepping op dyno. Try those out and call me in the morning!

Also, try a symp whirl>symp rev whirl or the other way around!

See if you can hit a 30 contact tiltless run!

thanks for the challenges jeremy
I already tried symp rev whirl > symp whirl or the other way around.. no luck yet but prety close to symp > rev symp
for pixie ss dyno, I tried a couple, I feel closer to ducking dyno.. I dex'd the bag completely once! it feels natural.. but no luck yet
also if I had a good flip step I would try steping far dyno.. but I guess that step is still a mistery..

30 tiltless; I've done over 50 before, also 1 minute + dropless

I'll have a session later and try this stuff again! Thanks again for the challenges they motivated me back :D

3 days without footbag, kicked a bit today, working on dynos
hit rev whirl midstring, never hit the move before (only symposium actually)
otherwise some combos with dynos, got close to rev swirl>dyno>rev swirl

time goes fast..

so first session in 5 days, felt good not too rusty//
footed dyno>dyno many times, but the flip always goes flying
handset dyno on good side wroks all the time
dyno>gyro osis!!!!! this is one of the coolest combos I've ever done .. I think
almost far dyno, figured what was wrong
flip paradon is now good, I think// well I figured what was the problem with it making me hitting it from one time out of ten to twice out of three!
hmm what else
I kicked with Gilles, a student at the school I work at; he can toe kick both sides, can toe stall both sides, hit legover twice on one side; footed flip, almost fell on the floor trying mirage, he seems motivated, I hope its true, he has some great potential! .. and oh yeah, he was playing in jeans, with big basketball shoes, he will do damage with goonits!

thats all for now, I had some good strings in wich I inserted a lot 3 and 4's with some 2's

small kicking session with gilles, he was toe stalling pretty well, I gave him a crochet bag and he his really happy and motivated! close to mirage and illusion

on my side, i didnt try much, only kicked; but wait:
barfly super clean! deep dexes wich surprised me
symp rev whirling swirl!!!!!! also a big swirl wich also surprised me,
so I hit 2 moves I tough I would THE for sure if I ever hit them soon.. I'll have to get those back on camera!

ok today and yesterday sessions where refreshing!
what? flip paradon is now strong paradon?!?!

ok some drills I've hit
ss buter > osis > rpt > rpt > rpt ( to help my flip osis and flip ss buter )
rev whirl > whirl > rev whirl
rev whirl > dyno, symp whirl > dyno, symp rev whirl > dyno .. blah
strong dyno is now easy as cake!
far dyno!
pdx whirl midstring no problem!
ripwalk > pdx whirl > dyno (droped on it)
rev swirling pickup 2 or 3 times..

I found out a little motion to help flip whirl, managed to hit infinity > whirl > infinity > whirl .. flip whirl is still really hard and horrible.
flip whirl > ducking clip > whirl > droped on last duck clip

flip diving clip midstring lots of times.. more schooling and I will probably bust flip zulu I hope!

Hmm that seems to be all!

zulu clipper> merkon
paradon > pdx whirl > dyno
pdx whirl > whirl
stepping ss clipper bsos
lots of runs with pdx whirl midstring
hmm dowtime blenders, managed to hit like 10 of them, beats uptime..

I am very happy but after 3 straight sessions ankle is unhappy, break for 1-2 days!

1 hour session, ankle is like shit again, need at least weekend break, I got things to do this weekend anyways so it will prevent me from shredding hard, perhaps a spin clipper here or a gyro osis there, but I'll be calm :)

today's highlights: some pdx whirls midstring, did'nt manage to step out of it yet.. I guess its close
paradon>ripwalk
a few high flip sets (if they are clean is another topic)

I told some guy wanna see a cool trick? busted quantum buterfly on 2nd try, my 2nd time nailing it :D unfortunatly he did'nt even look because I missed first try and he could'nt manage to give me a few extra seconds!

man my good paradon is so hard I canbarely hit it anymore and flip is easy as cake..

what else, yes I managed to figure out something on DLO! I can hit the move on one side only still, but I can put it midstring, I drop a lot but figured out a turning point in the move, its about where I place my clipper foot for the set..

rev swirl is starting to be a joke on strong side, flip is still hard, if I practice hard it comes in for one session but its lost every time

spins are getting better too, I feel confortable seting a spin; usualy the set and spin is good, the finishing move is usualy the problem, 50% of the work seems to be done, getting confortable after the set is the next 50%,.. the cause of my drops on spins is usualy not being confortable, the set seems good..

I miss playing with people a lot, I cant even give a phone call to any montreal players.. I had a chat with Augustin from Paris for 30 mins this week, it really pumped me to talk footbag with someone live! He's the last person I shredded with and probably the next one too, when I return to Paris in July.. I can't wait..

2 hours sess, first in 3 days ..
pdx whirl was off :( only hit one, flip whirl > pdx whirl
hmm I worked at least 45 mins on whirls, but it was not really productive since I was exausted and filled in sweat.. Managed to hit some clean flip whirls.. close to gyro whirl by not enough to be defined, and tried some flip pdx whirl wich probably looked horrible! I will have my camera back on saturday so I will make a new video after..

what else, I hit spin ducking both sides if I try hard pretty easy
at the end of the sess I tried pdx whirl like 50 times in 2 mins, i was dead tired; switched to spin clippers that felt so easy.. I hit 3 consecutives on flipside.. kind of surprised me, but I've been working so hard on spins that I guess it's normal!

I hit a string with 2x paradon bsos
