This seems to be the correct forum for a first post introduction thing.
Anyway, my name is Tim, I've been kicking for about 5 years but only freestyling for a little over two. I'm pretty slow at advancing and it seems like I've been working on clipper sets my whole life. When I first started, I did the bad thing and didn't practice my basics while just trying to hit harder moves. Well now I'm screwed at the moment and I'm back to basics working on hitting all the 2-3 add moves. Here are some things on my mind as I join this amazing forum.
1. I'm surprised the username "Tim" isn't taken! I guess people like to get fancy with their names.
2. I've been here a couple of times just to lurk around and everyone seems really nice here which is cool.
3. I need to brush up alot on notations. I've been refusing to learn them since I really can't do much but I swear I'll learn them soon!
4. DATW. I ALMOST hit it today from an outside delay to an outside delay. Is it considered any more difficult than a DATW from a toe set?
5. Even though I'm just a novice, I'm the best from around my area. And I can only watch those videos so much. Does anyone live in Connecticut that would like to come join me and show me "what's really good?"
Thanks for reading! Or just skipping to the bottom and reading this sentence! Either way, I'm glad to be here.

Good first post! Yeah, not working the basics will end up biting you in the ass eventually, but recognizing that is the first step in moving beyond it. And outside set DATW to outside delay sounds pretty sweet. I'd think you'd like whirling-based moves if you're into that sorta dexterity. If you're looking to learn Jobs' notation, check out the links on footbag.org. Not only is there a good introduction to Jobs', which is absolutely essential to learn, but there's also info on a lot of other necessary information. Check it out and keep kicking!

Hey man thanks for the reply! I promised myself that I'm going to start learning Jobs tomorrow. I think I know what you mean by whirling based moves. My ankle/leg is just more comfortable bending out than in. When I was a kid I never sat Indian style, I always preferred sitting with my legs out and people would be like, "What the hell!?". Lately, I've been stretching my left leg inwards (my left leg's movement is disgraceful compared to my right leg) in hope that I could accelerate the obtaining of "crank". Hopefully it will start being more cooperative!
(I saw the word "crank" in a topic earlier tonight and I thought this would be a good time to use it. Hopefully I used it correctly haha)
