I almost left work without updating my blog entry 8O
Yesterday...
I got off work early because of an event that I did, so naturally when I got home, I took it easy for a bit, and watched some shred footage.
After that, I prepared myself and headed out to the station to shred. As it turned, I didnt have much energy, or will to shred too hard, so I took it easy. I think I will take a break today. Plus today I have to work an hour later, in preparations for my trip to Okinawa. :D
I worked on spins and swirls. They are both slowly getting better, SLOWLY. I feel like everyone around me is getting way better, and then there is me, stuck in the same spot. I know that footbag isnt about beating people, its about having fun, but I am competitive, and I dont want to lose my title at the Japan nationals this year :x
Oh well, I represent either way
I beat my legover record, so that is good...
more to come

I know how you feel. I get that same feeling quite often, and it's hard to accept that we just don't have the natural skill of other people. Not a lot of consolation I can give, except that you definately ARE getting better, even if you don't feel that way.

Guess you cant win 'em all...

Yesterday,

I took the day off yesterday and hung out with hitomi. I brought my Lavers to work so when I go home, I can go straight to the station to kick. I feel like I will play good today...
One of my shortest entries yet...

Maybe it's a bit naive but I've always thought of natural talent as a myth. I mean, I realize some people are naturally better at certain things but it's no reason to not beat the snot out of em in any form of competition. Haha. You just have to work that much harder. And there's no shame in working hard.

Also, I find there are certain points in everyone's game where they EXPLODE into improvement. Like at the open level, it's tough to improve a lot. But last week I realized I could hit torque moves and not have to bail and my game got great. Maybe that is right around the corner for you man!!! I guess this is a long winded way of saying be stubborn, be the best, it's the only way to be.

And lastly, you rock the socks in shred to begin with TJ!

I agree with you too Caleb. For example Vasek. Homeoy kicked his ass of, and probably still does. Whether he knows something I dont or not, Im not sure, but either way, I firmly believe that practice makes perfect. :D
Caleb,
Thanks for the advice, compliment, or whatever its called in English

I will NOT lose at Japans Nationals this year

Ah, yet another entry...

Yesterday was another rewarding session :D
I played for about 2.5 hours, and didnt want to stop, except that my legs were a little sore.
As I wrote in a previous blog, I brought my gear to work with me yesterday so that I could shred as soon as I got to the station. Plus, I have to work a total of 8 hours overtime, an hour at a time, before th 27th of February. Once I do this, I will get a paid holiday on the 27th and will be able to go to Okinawa for the Okinawa footbag meeting 3.
I checked the weater there, and right now it is about 24 C :!: That is about 75 F 8O I cant wait to go there!!!

Back to yesterday.
No breakdancers were practicing at the spot as I arrived, but a cute girl came shortly after I was done with my warm up stretches. I warmed up really slow, which is a good idea, and my first string guiltless was about 30 some contacts, at least thats what it felt like  .
I hit:

pixie same mirage x 8
smear > pixie same mirage (rpt)
paralax bs
spinning clipper x 7 (strong) x 2 (weak)
tapping pickup (bsos)
atomic pickup (bsos)

Started working on linking swirls (still not that good at them)
spins are feeling a lot better
barraging as a set
nuclear (want to get it down, but I can sort of do it, once in a while)

Today I am going to borrow a video camera from school and tape my shred :o
bye

WELL!
Yesterday I had a really fun time shredding for just under 5 hours :!: That might just be the longest solo session I have ever had. It was loads of fun, and I literally had to force myself to sit down and hurriedly take off my shoes so I would stop kicking, although it was tough deciding between that, and playing for 3 more hours and feeling terrible today. My legs felt great, I took some footage (some of which might just be posted sometime soon... oh yeah, and a MILF) saw some friends I hadnt seen in a while, and PLAYED FOOTBAG!!!

It just so happens that the couple of friends I havent seen in a while, Tetsuji and Yoshi, are the new heads of Zero, the breakdance, hip-hop, soul, rock, pop, etc. crew in the Osaka area. Maybe they dont span throughout all of Osaka, but you get the point. They gather at Kansai University, the international university that I mentioned in a previous blog.
As it turns out, they are throwing a going away, graduation party March 14
, and they want me to put on a little show for everyone :!:
I politely declined as I put my thumg in my mouth, grabbed my diapers and crawled home... wait, thats not what happened... Oh yeah, I said yes :!: and to keep me posted as the day gets closer. They probably will have really big speakers, and I will use that to ALL of my advantage.

I am really looking foward to this. I know a lot of people I havent seen in a long time will be there. Plus I get to show everyone footbag!!!!

I worked pretty much on all of my sets and got a little better at everything, which felt really good.

Yesterday I hit,

pixie whirl (bs)
pixie rev. whirl (bs)
fairy whirl (bs)
flip blender
footed double spinning toe (I have hit it though, I think...)

I really want to play today, but I am going out to dinner with Hitomi and her mom, so I dont know if there will be time. If there is, I will play.

Man, you always seem to play like 3 to 5 hours daily. How do you find the time? Some days I don't even have time for an hour of kicking!

Ok, now that I have a little free time at work, I will try to get in my weekend update
Friday started off with, um, ah, shoot, I dont really remember how long I played or what I hit  But I do know that I played...

Saturday,
After I was done teaching the old man that I teach, I left for the station. I had the video camera that I borrowed from school with me, and was excited to use it :) As I arrived at the spot, Kenzo, Charhan, and one other guy were in the midst of shredding. They had started about an hour early than me, so were already warmed up. That made it a little harder for me to warm up, watching them bust and what not...
So, I laced up and did my best to take my time and stretch. I started kicking at about 4pm, and stopped at about 8 or so. At about 7pm, everyone stopped and went off to eat somewhere. I didnt get my fill so I told them to go on without me. They called me crazy and took off. I continued to play, but mostly schooling spins and swirls. Limited success.

I didnt get to tape because, apparently if I did tape, and a guardman saw it, he probably would kick us out of the spot...

Saturday I hit:
far rev. whirl (bsos)
tap x 11 (strong) x 5 (weak)

Once I stopped, I hurriedly gathered my stuff, threw my clothes on and headed home. On the way home, I had talked with Hitomi, and as it turned out, she was at a party for her friend. We were going to meet at Hirakata station, but the time was not decided. She told me she would be done around 11:30. I had about an hour and a half space that was not filled...... so I laced up and shredded some more. My strings felt REALLY good, and long. Also, my legs felt really good too. When Hitomi was done, she came to where I was at, and we walked home.

Sunday went like this...
I met up with everyone at ocat (where all the breakdancers are). Debi, Kenzo, Charhan, and a kid I havent seen in a long time were there. I played from about 3 to 6, and then decided that because I was tired, and really cold, and felt sick, that it would be a good idea to quit early (something I dont think I have ever done), and go home. After ever yelled "You played too much yesterday!", I said my goodbyes and returned home. Sunday not much was hit except:

duck. clipper x 19
far osis (rpt) x 15 (I lost count) (strong) x 5 (weak)
That is about it,
oh, I didnt kick yesterday (Monday). I really wanted to, but because I was in a cold sweat trying to sleep Sunday night, I though it best to take it easy yesterday. Today I shred :D

Another great session yesterday :D

After work, I went straight home, changed clothes, and 5 minutes later was on my way to the station. As I arrived at the station, there were two girls dancing where I was going to kick. That didnt bother me one bit  I brought my stereo with me, so I could blast the jams, and asked them if it was ok if I turned it up a bit. I noticed that they were dancing along to the beat, so I knew they wouldnt mind. Being that yesterday was Valentine`s day, I only kicked for 2.5 hours, and then hung out with Hitomi. She gave me a bunch of chocolate covered fruit that she made.

A bit of culture about Japan:
In Japan there are two Valentine days. Feb. 14th is Valentine`s day. However, this day the FEMALES give the MALES gifts, candy, etc. On March 14th, White Day, the MALES give the FEMALES gifts, candy, etc.
:o

Yesterday I hit:

Pixie Legover x 16
symp whirl x 2 (Strong) x 1 (Flip) < gotta work on that
maybe some other stuff. Today will be a fun shred...
Happy Valentines`s Day

Good day blog.

Yesterday was an ok sesh, although I was pretty tired and only ended up playing for 2 hours :?
Yesterday I hit:

Nothing special, I think,
diving clipper x 23 (Strong) x 10 (Flip)
about 15 contacts of two bag juggling (one on each foot)

schooled swirls. They are getting better, but I still have a ways to go.

Today, I get out of work early, so I will have time to shred more than usual. :D

I think I will practice like I did two days ago, everyday. Somedays its harder than others, but if I manage to kick like I did two days ago, I think I will progress nicely...
