If I don't get hit by a falling piano in the head, I should be there :D We were supposed to go to some kind of an art exhibition today, but of course I took two of my friends and we went to our gym to shred! :D I played a little, and tried my routine once - it went ok, so I guess everything should work good in competition, which starts tommorow in Warsaw! :) I also practiced some breakdancing :P I learned one new freeze, it's pretty cool but sometimes I end up smashing my head on the floor :?

I'm leaving Wrocław tommorow at 14:50. I can't wait to meet all the footbaggers, and the famous Michał Toe Machine Cod Biarda :D

So I just came back from Warsaw, from Remont competition - I had a great time! :D We arrived there on Friday evening, and I got picked up by Cod and we went to his house. The next day there were eliminations. The floor in the skatepark, where everything was happening, was a bit slippery so sometimes it was hard too keep balance, but we shredded a lot anyway. My eliminations routine went moderately good, because in the begginning I got confused and forgot what tricks should I do next :o Thankfully I recovered and managed to finish it with 5 drops. After the eliminations we shredded in circles and some good stuff was hit. I remember a run started with Pixie Paradon > Blurriest, then Blurry Whirl > PS Whirl > Spinning Pdx Whirl and other Blurry Whirl > Blurry Drifter. Setman was hitting some really good runs, same with Gielnik. Even Cod had some good runs :P When the competition ended we went back to Cod's house, and then met with Gobol. Together we did a fine walk, sightseeing many beautiful places in Warsaw and enjoying it's night life  Of course finding the club took a little more time then we thought (of COURSE we didn't get lost! ) but finally we arrived there. After waiting in a long line for about 40 minutes  the bouncer said that I can't enter even though I'm 18 already, just because I didn't have proper ID (I just had my student card with me) So we went back home, sightseeing and enjoying Warsaw's night life

The second day was the day of finals. Me and Cod decided to play Doubles for fun and even prepared a good routine - we had this idea to make it like a battle. As everyone knows, Cod is a toe2toe machine, and I'm mostly clipper dominant. So we put small "battles" in our routine :D Cod would point at me, bust Plo > Plo, and do the "try to repeat this!" stance. I would repeat it, and then counter with Ripwalk > Ripwalk. At this point the audience got pretty interested :D Cod just smiled and proceed to hit Ripwalk > Stepping slippery floor fall down  The audience cheered and the guy on the microphone said something like "what a sacrifice!" :D We didn't have a lot of drops and were happy with our performance. Unfortulately we had 4th place :(
My routine went pretty good, I think I still dropped 5 times, but in less important places. The audience liked it and I finished with 3rd place. In Shred30 I dropped two times and got about 160 points, which also placed me on 3rd place. The highlight of the competition was definitely Sick3. I hit my safety combo (Janiwalker > Blurry Whirl > PS Whirl) on first try, and then, on my second try, Fury > Pixie Paradon > Food Processor! :D I hit this combo about 3 times before, but I wasn't sure that I could hit it on command. When I cought the bag I started jumping around celebrating :D That was an awesome feeling. In unofficial BigOne I hit Nemesis, but the judges said it was footy, so I got 3rd place, after Blurriest Swirl (by Czetu - 1st place) and Cod's Rooted Pixie Atomic Symposium Mirage :D Props to Cod for hitting this hard trick!

It was great to visit Warsaw and play with everyone - tournaments are the best thing in footbag :D

Nice report Szymon :D ! I so wish i could have been there myself to see
all the action, especially the battle part of your and Cods double routine !

Sounds like you had a real good time, the weird bouncer story aside -
this guy didnt even do his job right . I work at the door of a club too
and we accept any kind of id, as long there is a a name, pic and a
date of birth part that says : " i'm 18 !

When i read that you called jani>blurry whirl>ps whirl your savety combo,
i had to laugh real hard and i knew there was more to come...
Props for hitting fury>dimmiest>food in competition ! Wow :D

Did anybody film the comp and some casual shred - since i fucked up
my foot, i punish myself by watching hardcore vids  .

There is a vid online with Shred30 from Remont, that's so cool! :D You can find it here:
http://www.footbag.org/gallery/showset/952
I think the level of this event was really high. 160 points wouldn't place you in top 3 8O And the differences between 3rd, 4th and 5th place were something like 1 point :D Thanks to Wiktor for putting that vid online so fast.

Good session today, I hit some new stuff like:

Flaring Double Down/Symp. Whirling Barfly
Firewalk > Whirr > run with Blurriest
Quantum Legover > Toe Blur (rpt)

There were 4 people shredding, so it was almost crowdy  We had a good circle going, then schooled some sigle concepts. I can't hit Paradon Swirl for the life of me :D But I'm sure that with some more work I'll get it. I worked a little on genuine runs and tried to beat my record, but I couldn't get past something like 12 contacts. Olaf hit Swirling Drifter first try I think 8O Paweł is also getting much better. He has a solid style and good delays. I'm starting to think about a new routine, it should be pretty artistic if everything works well.

I had a short session today. I don't have much time, so I'll just write the highlights:

Spanishfly BS
Leviathan BS
Whirr > PS Eggbeater

It was a good session, I schooled Symp. Barraging a little. My Atomic sets are getting pretty consistant too. Big session tommorow.

Pozdrawiam

8 people came to today's session! How crazy is that :D It's great to have so many shredders (and one shredita :D ) in one place. So we played for about 3,5 hour - afterwards I was damn exhausted. We had two circles going for most of the time and lots of sweet runs were hit. I don't think I hit anything new, Croxton was a nice highlight, and I was SO damn close to Flareal Buttefly  No, wait - I hit one new trick: flipside Quantum Drifter. I hit on the other side about half a year ago.

PS Eggbeater is getting a little easier, with some work I'll be able to put it in my string without the fear of dropping :) I was hitting lots of Whirrs too, for example I had one string which went like: Whirl > Pdx Whirl (rpt) > Whirl > Whirr > short run with dropped flip Whirr.

I need to do more Illusions!

Thanks Ian - Flareal is Symp Whirling Nuclear.

Finally, a session! I only played once this week - how stupid is this :( And to make things worse, next week I'm also going to shred only once, and then 2 weeks without playing! I need to find another place where I could shred or I'm going to die :)

Anyway, back to reality - 4,5 hour of shred today. I felt really good after such a solid workout. There were 4 people including me, so we had a nice circle. I remember hitting Blurry Whirl > Blurry Whirl > Blurriest > Blurriest to a short run with PS Whirl > PS Drop :) That was the first time I hit the beggining combo. I'm also working on my tripless runs - I had a few good ones, one had both Blurry Whirls in it. PS Eggbeater keeps getting more solid. I worked on Atomics too - I think I hit 4 Atom Smashers which is probably my record  Need to school them more.

Then we practiced Doubles with Olaf and it also looks promising. We start to hit more complicated stuff, like Keep combinations (one person keeps delaying the bag, the other one does all the dexes) and some double dex moves like "Skoczki" and Eggbeaters. We had one good link of Spin > Stomping Eggbeater - stuff like this looks really good in Doubles :D We just need some good music and our routine is going to be killer!

After schooling Doubles we started this game - we wanted to hit as many 5 adders as possible :D Each person had 3 tries to hit a trick of his choice. First we played to 20, then to 30, but afterwards I decided to raise it up to 40 and did it :D Some cooler 5's were Symp. Flurry, Croxton, Symp Torque, Gyro/Spyro/you know what I mean Symp. Whirl and Gyro Blender :) Then we drilled a bit and finished the sesh. Too bad next one is in a week :(

I started having slight back pains, which transormed into some more serious shit on Thursday. It hurt to walk so I visited my cousin, whose wife is an acupuncturist. The needles helped, and on Friday I felt a lot better. So today I had a session but had to play lightly due to small pain. I mostly played with dexless tricks and BOPs, sometimes throwing something harder. Did some Swirls schooling too, and was happy to hit Swirl > Rev. Swirl x2 on one side, and Swirl > Rev. Swirl on the other. Olaf was there as well, so we practiced Doubles, and had some pretty decent combos and links. One of them, called "Mielonka" went like this: Keep > Eggbeater > Legover > Eggbeater. We also started using Clippers. Maybe we'll start throwing some harder stuff with them sometime soon. Then I stopped not to overdo my back and after Olaf hit some massive tricks we went home. The bad news is that next session is in two weeks :( Maybe I'll think up something and play anyway.

Today we went to do a demo in some school, and surprisingly found out that there are players from Warsaw there! We shredded for about 1,5 hour and it was a good session. My back still hurst a little so I had to shred carefully, but still managed to do some good strings. One of them had Symp. Flurry, Symp. Whirling Swirl, Whirr, Blurriest and some other stuff. Croxton again. And even some Pdx Blenders :)

The journey back home was not as good. I waited for a good hour on the bus stop, just to find out that there was a collision or something and the trams aren't cruising. Uh :? So I started walking home and after about 20 minutes finally cought a bus that took me home.

Hahaha walking around Wroclaw looking for a bus to take us home brings back good memories hahaha

You know you are good at footbag when having a bad back and 'shredding carefully' still lets you hit symp whirling swirls, whirrs, blurriests etc hehehehe

I went to Kraków to do a footbag demo there on weekend - it was awesome! We spent almost whole Saturday on sightseeing, and what was the best, there was a girl that used to be a guide with us :D So we saw everything that was worth seeing and got to hear all the cool stuff about the city (legends, funny stories etc.). Then there was the demo - it went pretty well, although there weren't many spectators. The floor was extremely slippery too, but we still managed to show everyone what freestyle is all about :) There was freestyle, 4 square and net too, so it was pretty interesting. After our show a breakdancing team showed up and did their demo - they're called Stylowa Spółka Społem, and I was really pumped to see them :D Their demo was really cool, way better then ours as they managed to get a lot more attention. Seems they have more experience :) I watched them carefully and tried to remember as much as I could to maybe try it later

After the demos there was a small hip hop concert, and we danced a little and even conquered the floor with some break moves :D But it didn't last long as we were already tired and went to Victor Kirchner's apartament (thanks for letting us crash at your place Victor!).

On the second day we shredded with Kraków's crew (actually mostly just me and Victor :D ) - pretty good session, I didn't hit anything new, but had some good runs. Shortly after the session we packed up and left Kraków. The journey back home was a bit hard, as there was massive fog everywhere, but thankfully we got home safely.

There is a tournament in Wrocław in 1,5 week - Świat Zośki. It's going to be great! I should be preparing, but I don't :o At least I have a song already :)

Good, long session today. Some things really stood out. The first one is - there were two new players! How cool is that :D New people don't show up often, so getting two guys to play is quite an achievement. Maybe now, as it gets warmer, and we are able to shred outside, we'll get more shredwarriors :)

In the beggining I tried to throw more Illusions in my runs, and got some nice results, like Blizzard > Toe Blizzard > Smudge to a run with Blizzard > Tripwalk and some other Illusion variations. Pdx Eggbeaters were working pretty well too. I tried some fearless links too, and hit this:

Pixie Paradon > Blurriest > Bedwetter
Bedwetter > Pixie Paradon
Whirlygig Rake
Mullet > Whirlwind

I was extremely happy about the first one, I totally felt like Ales :D After a good hour of shred we switched to 4Square, and taught the new guys how to play it. It was really nice to play with 6 players. Some good moves were played and some small arguments were had - it's the controversial situations that are the best, right? :D After 4Square we played some Doubles with Olaf, and I can safely say that we're getting good. We still have some basic areas which we have to improve, but it looks like we found a good rythm and we can freestyle pretty decently.

Another session tommorow, I can't wait already!

One more guy came to play with us today! That makes 8 people on one training session, all of them from Wrocław - awesome :D Two of them are already training Parkour, but I think we'll convert them to the only right way  I don't think I hit anything new today, well maybe Spinning Pdx Whirling Rake (I'm not sure if I hit it before), but had some good runs. I also worked on PS Whirls and hit 5 once, and 4 lots of times. I was damn close to Flaring Pdx Mirage > Plasma, but only footed it. While thinking about possible Sick3 combinations, I came up with one that sounds really unique: Flaring Butterfly > PS Eggbeater > Symp Whirling Rake. Maybe I'll try to hit it next weekend during competition, it would be pretty hard though.

We practiced our Doubles once again and schooled one synchro till we owned it  I finally tried out my routine and it looks like I have a chance of playing it well. I made it a bit easier then my previous routines, but I think it will be better to hit easier one with 3 or less drops, then a harder one with 6. There are still moments that are not very well synchronized with the music, but I'll try to patch it theorethically during the week :)

I have to read 300 pages of some book for tommorow. I don't think I'll make it. School should be banned

So the second annual "Świat Zośki" footbag tournament is already over. It was a great competition and I'm happy that it took place here in Wrocław (cause I didn't have to go anywhere  ). Everything was held in a club called Alibi - it wasn't perfect, but could be worse. The floor wasn't very slippery, and we could see the bag, so there was a lot of circle shred. My routines went very well, in eliminations I had 4 drops, and in finals 3. The final score was a summary of the scores from Routines, Shred30 and Sick3 - my Shred30 went pretty bad, but thankfully others didn't do so well too, so I got 3rd place. In Sick3 eliminations I hit two good combos, Janiwalker > Blurry Whirl > PS Whirl on my first try, and then Janiwalker > Blurriest > PS Eggbeater - that was definitely a highlight. Unfortunately in Sick3 finals I didn't hit anything and it had big consequences, as I dropped from 1st place (after eliminations) to 4th - Duh! :D

So, in the end the results were:
1. Kamil Wysocki
2. Michał Ostrowski
3. Wiktor Dębski
4. Tomasz Ostrowski and me

Anyway, I was happy with my performance so I shredded a lot till the end of the day. I hit one new trick - Symp. Twirl, and some good combos, like one with Flaring Butterfly, Blurry Drifter > PS Whirl, PS Whirl b2b and Blurriest > PS Eggbeater :) I also bsosed Blurriest > DLO > Whirl, which was kinda cool feeling

It was great to play with other polish players, I was really amazed by guys from Góra - they made very big progress, and are strong players. They told me that two of them hit Nemesis already, and that makes 14 people in Poland who have hit that trick :D Cool.
