Are you maybe incorporating current events into that answer?
There there, you're a winner no matter what she says.

Here's a good one I heard about a week ago:
There are three rooms. Outside of the rooms are three lightswitches. You can only enter one of the rooms one time. How do you figure out what switch turns the light on in one of the rooms?
(This is not probability. There is a definite answer)

Didn't mention any doors on any of the rooms... don't suppose you can just look in from outside?

Nope. Sorry, I thought doors would be an assumption. There is no way to see into the rooms.

Couldn't you take a light bulb out of one of the sockets then turn on the switches and the one that does not turn on will be the one that is assigned to that lightswitch? That way there is no light coming form anywhere in the building. There has to be something more than that.

nope, that would require you to enter two of the rooms and, you can not see into the rooms at all. Trust me, there is a definite answer.

Turn the first switch on and leave it on for a few minutes. Turn it off, then turn the second one on. The room with the light off is the third switch, the room with the light on is the second switch, and the room with the hot bulb is the first switch.

YES, you've got it. If the light is on, then thats the correct one, it the bulb is warm than its the first switch you turned on, and if ist off + cold the its the one you didn't try. Nice
