For those who don't know, he was a fantastic hiphop producer who wrote music for A Tribe called Quest, Common, etc.

J Dilla , Jay Dee, the hip hop producer that did the frank and dank stuff, a ghost face track, some busta rhymes stuff, and slum village, etc etc is dead ?

I have seriously been hoping since last week that someone would post a topic about this, just hoping I wasn't the only one who was affected by it.

While I'll admit my familiarity with him was minimal, Like Water For Chocolate was not only my favorite Common album, but one of my all-around favorite albums ever... kind of sucks to realize that amazing of a producer isn't around anymore.

But anyway, after I heard about it I went and got Fan-Tas-Tic Vol. 1, and Fantastic Vol. 2 by Slum Village, and holycrapthey'reamazing. I feel so bad for not having been listening to it all along.
