Here is my take on Chris's bags:
Honestly, I've purchased bags from a good deal of those of you that stitch. I consider myself rather good at breaking bags in as I do it not only for myself but for others around me. I play around tiltless level nowadays and figure myself to be a good judge of filler, stitching, material, and playability of a given bag.
That being said, lets start
The Filler: The filler of Chris's bags is perhaps my favorite part. He uses a mixture of shot and poly pellets--believe my shot is lead as I've no objection to the use of it in bags. This filler allows the bag to break in fast and break in complely which is essential. Many stitchers may make beautiful bags, but fail at the filling aspect of it, which really is more important than it's visual appeal. This filler is great, allows for very good stalling, even break in, true sets and all around good shred.
The Stitching: Chris stitches beautifully, it is very uniform and straight from what I've seen. He had a slight problem on the last stitch, however, perfection of that comes with practice and I believe in no time at all, chris will inevitably have this down so every one of his bags is "perfect" (in quotes because nothing is really perfect in life or footbag
) Also, I believe Chris's style is better suited to a lighter bag, I generally prefer my bags heavy bruisers but I asked for what Chris felt would make the bag best and got it at 40 grams, I believe 40 deviating maybe a gram or 2 either way is the best weight to play these bags, making them heavy simply will take away from the bag's potential.
The Material: For some reason, this facile is very soft, I believe perhaps it is because chris does not get his facile from fields fabric which many of the other sitchers do. He gets it locally and as such is able to pick out the most soft facile available to him. This softness allowed the bag to be nearly shred worthy right out of the package, I kicked it, massaged it, and was ready to go probably an hour after getting it. Coupled with the filler, this material makes for an extreamely stally bag, which I love.
Overally playability: I fell in love the bag after my first little shred with it. It just feels right and everything feels right on when I try it. I can only imagine the bag getting better as it continues to break in further, as time goes on. As of Now, It's been aded to my number of bags that are always on my person for use in a shred whenever I possibly can.
My feelings: Honestly, I love this bag. It's not been away from me since I got it. Chances are it won't be until dies (hopefully a damn long time from now) If I could get another bag from chris right now, I would without a second thought.
So, if you are looking for another bag, like them a bit on the lighter side, speak with Chris, these are very worth it. Even if you don't like them lighter I honestly think these are worth a try. Like I said I normally like my bags 50+ grams but I really love this and it's no where near what I usually play.
A quick word on the stitcher: I usually make it a point to get to know the individual that is making my bag a little bit. Chris is a very nice individual and dealing with him was very fun. He was nice and even still will listen to be go on about footbags. He is also an upstanding individual and I think any of you that have dealt with him know this. I consider him a friend and I hope he does me as well.
