then i had a nice long debatte with my withworker.she lives on an öcological farm(sp?).they make grains and meat and stuff the natural way.without poisons and without pumping the animals full with medicine...and she was telling me stuff about the things i eat.and...man,i allmost trew up.its so disgusting.and it wont stop,it will go on and on.she showed me some studies were some researchers fed geneticly engeneered grains to mice and stuff....60%of em died, just because of the food!and nature isnt the type of guy that takes orders were to blow the pollen...so this genetic manipulated stuff will get more and more...there are allready bad weeds that you literaly have too nuke out of your fields....just because the gen stuff mixes with the natural stuff and so creates super bad weeds.....
i know i have a blog reader that is realy into this whole foods and nutritions stuff.maybe we can have a chat about that, what you think and stuff....
Maybe that's me. First of all in the last year I got no subjects ( ok I got them but I did not visit them regularly ) relating to ecological environment.
To your coworker:
I think it is fine for her to live on this farm and live their idea of ecological farming.
To gen manipulated food:
I think it is not optimal that 40 percent of all the food we produce will be rotten or eaten by someone else ( I guess that is the regular waste rate of this kind of production for several vegetables ) .
If I remember correctly it is always a matter of what we produce on how much space.
We ( Germany ) got not enough space to produce all the products we would need. To produce not as efficent as possible is not a big help to solve this problem.
The risks are unknown, no doubt about that. The combination of genes and your super bad weeds are a problem.
To how we treat our environment:
We will get our feedback from earth someday.
Really I wonder if the human race will nuke each other out or destroy the earth first of all.
It depends much on psychology that every person is the next to oneself and most of the people do not see the long term effect of their acts, or they give a damn about it.
For example:
You know that giving your animals some medication is bad for the consumer who will eat them later. You know also that giving medication will bring you more profit. You deny because it is forbidden (it is not forbidden that let's think it would be! ) and you see the long term effect.
What about your 100 co meat producers? 5 of them choose the risk to get detected and choose the profit option. They will make more profits and will raise their position of the market. ( rotten- meat - scandal )
This example should show you that it is tough to set guidelines for all people which got no gaps.
Many of those new "Bio" Products are not based on biological ideas but on marketing ideas. Bio is good because people are willing to pay more money for bio products. Those companies will take their chicken into smaller cages if the guideline would allow that.
You could say "Bad companies" but otherwise you have to think, if it is acceptable to ignore the most possible profit. This rule is the only one which will make the construction of guidelines a little bit easier to forsee the acting of the market.
As you can see I am not that much into this materia because I can only see the problems but got no solutions.
To be an expert I should be able to rate the impact of the possible solutions too.
Thanks for letting me know that I must post more on modified to work on my English again - god I had to look up so many words, not even think on my grammar !!!
