you could probably make black lavers look like that with spray paint or something.

hell yeah, I had a pair just like those that were my lavers for a long time, one of my best pairs... I modded the outsides like leather lavers, and cut that gold stuff right off. It came off really easy. The material underneath was even thinner than the corresponding material on mesh lavers, although not as thin as the stuff under leather. Totally moddable, totally sweet looking.
