So, this hasn't been put up yet on the
www.kingstonfootbag.com website where we will permanently have a 32 panel stitching tutorial, but here is an image I think may help. Sorry for being so crudely drawn.
There is actually an 8th hole in the hexagons that attaches the two hexagons. You do not actually need to tie off until the end of a pentagon. You can go all the way around on one thread and then gather.
Now follow the arrows of the diagram. You can see how you make the 3 full stitches and the 6 basic stitch holes in
blue. Then the
pink holes are the
1st and
8th holes in the hexagons. Instead of going through the pentagon, you attach the two hexagons together through the
8th hole of the first hexagon and the
1st hole of the second hexagon. Then make your
2nd hole in your hexagon go through the
1st hole in the next side of the pentagon. Now repeat on all sides until you attach the first hexagon and the fifth hexagon together through their
8th and
1st holes. Now you tie off.
I hope that makes things a little clearer. It's difficult to explain. I know I got wordy.
