What kinds of Lavers would you like to see?

Post by Switch Kicker »

This is the topic, where you will stat what kinds of lavers you would like to see. I, along with other people, am trying to get Adidas to come out with atleast 1, new desing of Rod Lavers, as a limited edition shoe. What I need you guys to do, is to list some designs and colors you'd like to see. (Not really design, unless you want a Footbag exclusive shoe with like... a Footbag on it... Weird but w/e floats your boat man.) If you are going to submit any ideas, write it in this format PLZ so I don't have to ask you questions through pming.

Mesh/Bottoms

So, that means, if you say, for instance, White/Red, that means, you want, White mesh, and Red ont he bottoms, the back upper heal, and the tongue label.

If you want a more... funky combination, write it in more detail, such as this. only an example.

Mesh = Navy Blue
Bottom = Orange=
Back upper heal = Red
Tongue label = Green.
(Weird combination, but it's just an example.)

Note: THIS IS NOT A TOPIC FOR YOU TO BE BASHING ON THE PETITION, IF YOU WANT TO BE A BASHER ON MY PETITION, GO TO THE TOPIC CALLED, "Join me in my quest for "NEW new Lavers." This is STRICTLY only for people to submit creative ideas for new Rod Lavers. If you have even a SLIVER of decency or even the slightest bit of maturity in your body, you will respect my request not to post stupid, irrelevant crap in this topic. Thank you, for your cooperation.

So, get thinking and give me some ideas. After I get about 20, I will make a topic with a poll for the top 5. And then we'll go from there. Thanks, and don't be afraid to submit a crazy combination of colors, it's all welcome here.

Thanks,
Fred.

Man, if all your squeaky-wheeling just pisses off Adidas and they decide to discontinue Lavers just for the hell of it (you know, they can afford that), I am gonna kick your ass.

I do not mean this in a negative way, I really don't. I admire the effort you are putting into it. I think the fact that you feel passionately about something is great. You're trying to help footbag which is awesome.

However (you knew this was coming) Your attempt to save the Rod Laver is somewhat wasted. The age of the Rod Laver is ending, new shoes, newer shoes are being discovered that far surpass the ability of the rod laver as a shred shoe. The Clima cool for one has the potential for such a large toe area it shames the Laver, couple that with better grip and support and the laver is beaten. Another Option is units which resemble the Rod Laver very closly though support and grip of the sole put it at least a bit past the Laver. There are also New Balance's which are actually shaping up to look rather nice (Personally, I'm between these and climas for my next pair of shoes) again the sole and support putting the Laver to shame.

Your heart is in the right place and I mean that sincerely. However, the Rod Laver will soon fall into disuse, mark my words.

...Are you serious? I'm sorry, I MUST ask. I'm picturing it... and it's kinda, weird looking... but if that's what you want... I'll add it to the list... I'm taking this seriously, please don't joke about this.

As for Stephen... Shhh, grow up and read what I am typing at you... Don't screw this up please. (Btw, Adidas is a company... I'm 17 year old average joe... Yea, I'm gonna stop teh production of Rod Lavers. I feel my IQ dropping as I speak about this to you...)

Come on, give me more ideas people.

We shall see. As of right now, I don't think so, the number of players that switch back to lavers after using other shoes is surprisingly low. I'm not going to argue with you, Just we shall see how the tide of things goes.

It's really funny how you say the day's of the rod laver are ending but they dont even make climacool 1's or NB300's anymore. And g-units are hard to find anyway. The laver has been around for a shitload of time and will be for a while more.

I wasn't talking about 300's. I meant things like 520's which have potential. I'm not saying that Adidas will stop makign Lavers, hell I hope not, I wear lavers as everyday shoes. I just think shoes in their relation to footbag will evolve. I mean look at the things Tom Mosher is doing, should his idea go through (as he wishes it to) that could possibly be the "be all end all" footbag shoe, who knows? All we can do is wait and see.

Glad to know i helped.

Also, Black mesh, Silver bottoms, heel , tongue. The black mesh should have a silver sparkle to it when it shines in the light.

Now THIS is more like it, keep it coming people. (I hope all that mumbo-jumbo up there is done...) I like those black/gold/silver combinations... The rainbow one... if you really want it in there.. I'll add it to the list for the poll.

Ummm, feel kinda stupid asking this.. but what is the Suede? Is that the small slip of leater that wraps around the upper toe?

Also, forgot, start adding what color you want for laces... I'm sure you can just buy laces... but yea.. just add that in there too.

Sorry ,but I'm seeing this as much more of a convenience if you PM me what you guys want, much easier to sort through. You can post it here still to present your ideas, sot hat people don't pm me the same stuff as everyone else. Great ideas, keep it up people.

Oh, and by the way, lol. When I say, bottoms, or soles, you have to say, SOLID (color) instead of just (color). If you just say, Black for instance, that means, black bottoms, with the white above it, (Liek the green and blue lavers we have now...) If you say Solid Black, that means, the whole rubber bottom of the shoes is purely black, no white. Mix and match with that... You can say, top of the sole, and bottom of the sole if you explain it well enough. Sorry if this is getting too complicated for some people. Just submit whatever you can come up with. I'm going to post what I have on the list so far.

Rod Laver Design/Color Combinations

Order of Operations = Mesh/Bottom/Heel/Tag/Laces

Silver/Black/Gold/Gold/Black
Black/Silver/Silver/Silver/Silver –Black mesh should have a Silver Shimmer to it.
Silver/Solid Black/Black/Black/Black
White/Orange/Orange/Orange/White
White/Purple/Purple/Purple/White
Rainbow/Black/Black/Black/White
Checkerboard White and Black/Black/Black/Black/White
Hotpink/Hot Pink/Hot Pink/Hot Pink/ White
Green/White/White/White/White – Gray Suede near the toe.
White/Red/Red/Red/White
Navy Blue/Blue/blue/Blue/Black
Black/Black/White/White/White

Got 12 so far, keep em comming guys. (Girls too.)

In case any of you don't want to wait for adidas to put your dream lavers into production, you should check out adidas' new thing called adicolor. They are markers made for coloring shoes. Looking off the pictures from the web site, they seem to work well, Although i'm not sure if they change fabric stiffness or not. Still, its worth a look. Here is the link:
