Playing Solo

I just learned today after 7 months that I should be doing my legovers downtime. This will probably change my game forever (I knew Ashley in her video was doing them smoother but didn't know why).

Those who play in groups are pretty lucky to have teachers and others to play with!

If I didn't have modified, I don't know if I would be still playing footbag.

I know how you feel. I hate having to play alone all the time, but modified keeps me playing.

i stared playing with my friend. he has quited and i've been playing alone for 1.5 year and i haven't had a teacher. I just to modeled on videos and i think that's the best way to play footbag well.

It is true that having an experianced player to teach you helps a lot. Even just watching them play without them saying a word to you, you can pick up so much so quickly.

When I started I had a guiltless player who I was able to kick with every so often and it helped me LOADS.

When Johnny Murphy(#1 NZ) came down to visit me a year ago for a few days, my entire game changed and I got dramatically better soon after that. The same happened again recently when he came to stay with me again.

2nd best is having a friend at your level who you can play with, I have Toby who is about my level and the great thing is that we can pick up what eachother is doing wrong, something you can't always do for yourself. This has helped me heaps over my 2 years of playing.

Playing solo all the time is hard, but good on you for perservering! I recomend you try get some friends into it, and don't worry lots more people will want to play with you and be your friend when you get guiltless, I have noticed this happening to me

Keep watching videos to pick up tricks and if possible watch yourself on video and compare it to vasek!

I have always played on my own, seeing as there is nobody else ever heard of it over here.

I wish that 1 day I will meet and shred with someone and then learn alot.

I tried to get a friend into it but he just isn't the right kind of guy, he has little patience

one of my friends, who i met this year at track, plays, but i don't think he's as serious as i am. after track we would go up to the school and wait for our rides and have a little session. i showed him legover, atw, and told him about mirage (i hadn't really been able to do mirage at all). the thing is, he learned fast. he picked up legover quick and he tried mirage and got really close in like 30 minutes. he, and i, and a group of friends hack at lunch, but we just kick. he said he doesn't really shred at home, and i was like WHAT! but yeah, basically by myself. we circle kick at school, but if i really want to get work done, i do it at my home. i wish i did have a person who was a lot better than me to help me though.

thats why i LOVE living in idaho

its like one of the only places were idaho has been known for something

people that excell in freestyle footbag!

and dillon
they are all awesome people, its seems like everytime im there i learn something new, and up my game =)

other than that i do shred alon all the time, but when i do i end up more or less drilling everything i know so that hopefully one day i can be....all that i can be?

The name of this topic represents 99% of my shred sessions.
At first I didn't even watch videos. I would have saved hours of work if I had done that from the start, but most helpful would have been shredding with others. So use every opportunity you can!

If I still didn't watch videos I'd be circle kicker level, so thanks to everyone who makes them and please keep them coming.

when i first started playing, the only times when i would really shred were by myself, but that was during the summer. Once i came to school in the fall and showed all my friends the tricks i could do, they instantly were hooked. Now basically all of my friends play, and i rarely play by myself, and always with others. But i still like playing solo somewhat better because my friends arent really too good yet.
