I really can't fathom having a use for that much money. I'd pay off my debts, buy a house, maybe a few new toys like a really sweet computer give a few mil to my family members so they can pay off any debts, keep a few mil in the bank for a rainy day and maybe some traveling. Donate the remaining $170M+ to charities. I couldn't stand hoarding all the money knowing so many other needy people out there could use it. I'd be way more comfortable just staying a normal guy.

Yeah, same here, way too much money for me. I'd probably give a bunch (ha, whats a bunch?) to my church too. I wouldn't want to change my whole way of living you know? I'm already happy with what I got - I'm not rich either. I'd give a lot away. I'd probably continue with all my business ideas I plan on doing because I like that stuff and personal satisfaction means a lot to me. It would seem weird not working for your money.

Ohhhh yeah, since I have so much money, I could pay for any movie I wanted made.

All non-profits are required to disclose how much money goes to the actual cause and how much is used for administrative costs, such as employees and other costs of running the organization. I remember hearing a good rule of thumb is 15%. If a charity keep administrative costs below 15% of the money they take, they are doing a good job.

When Oxfam Australia (who my mother has been invovled with for the past 20 years approx) made the decision to employ people they found the overall amount of money going to their charities increased by over %200 immediatly and has continued to increase every year since that point. Charities these days are far far more successful than they were in the past because paid people are much more efficient and reliable than volunteers and because using business skills to run an organisation aimed at making money is obviously the best way of making money - the people with the best business skills tend not to work for free.

The organisation I work for - The Wilderness Society of Australia was almost bankrupt about 10 years ago and made the decision to employ a CEO and admin team whose focus was on running the organisation as a business - rather than worrying about any campaigns. Since that happened we now have million dollar profits every year and are the biggest, most successful environmental charity in Australia. If it weren't for making the decision to put more money into admin costs TWS probably wouldn't exist anymore and many places in Australia such as The Tarkine, The Styx, Recherche Bay etc. would not be protected (although more work needs to happen in those specific areas).

So in summary - admin costs actually help the cause of the charity enourmasly.

I think if you gave your winning lotto ticket to a charity and the charity claimed it they wouldnt have to pay any taxes on the winnings at all.

Limosines, whisky, and prostitutes, That's what i would spend in on if somebody just threw a ton of money at me with no accountability.

You should donate smaller amounts, over time, that way they have to kiss you arss and do what you want.

otherwise, they can give you the middle finger, as they get into to the Gulfstream 5 that you paid for.

Before claiming the winnings:
Get a good accountant and get my finanical affairs in order.
Wait 6 months and consider things.

Claim the winnings and then:
I would give my parents and sister 5 million dollars each.
I would move some place warm on the coast with a good university near by.
Build a large yet modest house with an indoor pool, full weight room, and gym.
Build a large guest house on the land as well.
Buy a Ferrari 575M Maranello.
Buy a nice high end SUV.
Buy a nice high end sedan.
Set up a 20 million dollar charitable agency to annually donate the interest of the trust to various organizations.
Set up a 10 million dollar scholarship trust in the same manner.
Buy new clothes.
Go to school for a long long long time.
Try to get a degree in medicine/law/english/engineering.
Go on lots of vacations.
Put the rest in the bank.

i was thinking=
make footbag a professional, organized, profitable, popular sport. with that much money and the right organization skills, anything is possible. i would form companies that profit my own private largely advertised and hyped footbag league and start sponsoring footbaggers with my private companies to travel an ever-expanding footbag competition circuit of at least a dozen footbag tournaments annually with professionally televised cable show. or maybe just get ESPN in on the deal. other companies would view it as an opportunity to jump on a new trend and start pumping their own money into the lucrative new sport, popularized with the worldwide youth. you would walk around your town and see 20 people playing footbag in every public park.

but then i realized, i would only want footbag to sell out if it would benefit me. if im already rich and footbagging, i dont need it to sell out as my only career option

I heard the near dubai. they are building mini replica islands of each country around the world. So america would be like the size of 1 town/city. But they have full size houses on.

I would buy like a mile of facile, get all the good types of fillers... Buy numerous ammounts of footbags from different people. Have cool gyms for footbag and all that...

and have a cool house with all these holes to different rooms..game roomes..huge speakers..a bunch of ipods i'll never open from their boxes.. I'll buy the hawaiian islands here and give tickets to everyone so we can shred!

Actually, i'll just build homes for everyone and only shredders are welcome! no winter here so you can shred, shred, shred! I'm gonna pass out from all these thoughts
