Look at your way of linking alternating clippers .
Some people do some extra planting there, usually the same bunch
of flunkies who do (too) many steps while stringing butters .

I'm not sure if the whole "little steps business" is harmful for ones
game in the long run, but it doesnt looktoo hot imo, plus you might
spend some extra energy you might need elsewhere..

If you dont extra-plant with your clippers, just transfer that method
to your infinities, et voila !

I also struggle with consecutive butterflies, but turning my upper body
conciously towards my setting leg helps me.
After setting the bag, i do a small hop backwards, then i fall into my
opposite butter .

Hope that helps a bit, and if not there will be other, better players
who'll post in ere .

Good luck and dont worry . It will get easier, for a while at least

Set the bag about waist height. Try not to set the bag across your body, rather bring your body across the bag. Don't scutter or "shuffle foot" after you set the bag; instead you'll want to smoothly bring the setting leg over/across the bag without planting the setting leg.

here's a drill that helped me learn infinity
butterfly>far legover [rpt] (works especially well to get the flip going]

hope it helps

i think setting it at a nice even ark across looks the best and just drop into that , if you set it strait up you would have to hop over or do some wierd twisy shit that doesnt looks to fluent

I agree with Joe saying that setting the bag NOT across your body is a bad idea. Meaning that you do want to set it across the body. This will help you with other tricks down the road.

Like Joe said, have it like an arch. The bellybutton might acuatly be a good peaktime point. Thinking of it as a legover is good, but keep the bag close to your stomach too, so you don't have to go out of your way getting the butterfly. This is one of the smoothest feeling tricks that I know (I don't know much :) )

:P good luck with double downs and reapers and not jaywalking when trying to ripwalk - arching.. it works, but it's not particularly good form, plus it stresses the medial side of the knees and will probably create future problems of "pulling" a stepping set.

Should you step during your infinities?

I quit double stepping during my pdx-mirages because Nic told me to work on them-I did ;-)

I've been trying to just swing my leg over to do the infinities-should I be double stepping?
