hello guys im a new member here and i need some help. I've been playing footbag for 2 years just kicking in a circle at lunch. Then i got interested into freestyle about a week ago with my friend teaching me and all. Since i only see him at school and i wanna practice at home. I was wondering if you guys have any stretches or exercises that i can use. I can just get my toe stalls alright alternating and pretty good on my inside stall on my right leg. My problem is that on my left inside stalls and outsides stalls and i can't keep my foot straight so i need to streches for some flexibility.

Thanks,
Stephen

P.S sweet forum by the way :D

welcome to modified. :D
It's great to play with other players, find some local shredders, they will help you out a lot. Whereabouts are you located?

Welcome bacon and proof! I think you'll find this forum to be VERY handy. And in bacon's case, he'll be advancing in no time thanks to the experienced footbagger he has the fortune of playing with. Modified is a wealth of information about every aspect of this awesome sport, and it will definitely help you get a lot better at footbag.

Check out the Trick Tips section, at the top there's Anz's trick vids. He's a really good player from Europe. Have fun finding out all the cool stuff!

I have an amaing teacher his name is be rhonowsli (I think thats how u spell it) anyways he is a great teacher and quite a player he says he has been playing 4 1year but thats hard to believe. hes thought me all that I know and still teaches me everyday. And I'm just fusterated that i have not advanced in so long.

thankz for even reading my message though,- PROOF- :D

Hey Steven,
it sounds like you may be getting ahead of yourself. Can you do all of the 2 add moves? I would suggest that you school the crap out of the basic 2 add moves before you begin trying moves like osis and spins. They are a general foundation on which you can base more advanced moves that you will learn later.

These moves are, Around the World (both directions), mirage and illusion, legover and pickup, downtime pixie and fairy, clipper, etc. Look in the Trick Tips forum for advice on these moves, as well as video demonstrations.

Master these moves and I think you will begin to understand how open freestyle is and what paths you can choose to develop your own arsenal of moves, and your personal style.

The best advice I think that anybody, and most would give you would be to LEARN EVERYTHING BOTH SIDES. Just remember that and when you are learning a new move make sure that you learn it with both legs/on both sides of your body. This is cruuuuucial.

Best of luck.

Post them!

I find that posting your goals helps you develop an even greater sense of accomplishment and, if you can use it effectively, a faster, more logical rate of progression. Post them here, or, more permanently, here:

Setting goals is awesome, and one of the best ways to improve. Challenge yourself to always hit something new every single time you play, whether it's a number of kicks or tricks in a row, a new trick, or a new combo -- always keep it new and exciting and you'll only want to keep pushing yourself. Footbag is the best :D

HELL yeah man I used to play alot of sports (a lot of injurys came from that to) but I've never played anything like footbag its the best thing thats ever happened to me. in which i've had my share of injury, and i'm sure theres going to be more but it only makes me want to play more, gives me time to think about differant stuff and what not( all footbag related) and i just can't wait to shred again

thankz, sanchez :D
