Nike Free 5.0 - New Footbag Shoe

Hi,

today I was in a big outlet store in the netherlands and I tried to shred in several pairs of shoes.

I tell you I have never seen such a shoe like that!

You need no modification to shred in this shoe.
The insides are super even and the bag doesn't roll
The toe is like you play in socks
The show is as light as nothing

Now I try to get a good deal on ebay because 70 Euros are not possible for me.
Maybe you got the money to buy this sneakers or just visit your local store and check them out .

You will be impressed !

the insides and outsides look like they would be good for shredding, but im not shure about the toe it looks kind of rounded, if it were more flat than that they would be an awesome shred shoe with a huge toe room

My friend has a pair of these. They are very easily the lightest sneakers i've ever felt. The sole is very unique in that it allows your foot to bend more naturally than any other shoe. It lets your natural foot muscles develop better as well supposedly. I don't really like the outer surface because it's way too stretchy. Also keep in mind, my friend had to send his pair back to Nike because they split open on the side just from him running around playing frisbee the second day he had them. That outer material cannot take alot of abuse at all.

It's funny, I mentioned these shoes in a thread a while back. They even have a heel box! But I'm not sure how much support they have, and the inside's kinda weak.

I think the insides ( the rail ) are the best of the shoe.

Hmm...I seem to remember the inside not being 'catchy' enough. EDIT. I'll check em out again next time I'm at a shoe store.

i once was in a big shoe store.and while my girl was picking shoes i had enought ime to try tons of shoes for there shraddability.and i have to totaly agree to jochen.this shoe seems to be the best besides all the laver styled shoes.not sure how they would do after like....4 weeks of "abuse" but i think they are realy good.the inside is very cool.and...in the end....a rail is not that bad,if you have good style it wouldnt effect anything at all.sure,when you switch back to lavers at some point you will recognise a slight catching miss....thingy...but it will come back within 15 min...my climas have the biggest rail ever.and i still can cleanly clipperstall in lavers!

so...jochen,i got your back this time...i will also get some and test em.in the end...if they dont work for shred i will wear them at work or something....

And how is the feel of the shoe while playing? Can you feel the bag everytime it hits your foot like you would with a modded pair of lavers, or is there no feel at all like unmodded leather lavers?

i am really interested in buying these shoes, they look sweet! If anyone else has tried these tell me what you think.

in the end it would be best disscribbed as:playing in socks with a cool inside attached to your feet!you can feel tha bag like you would feel it in socks.the material is realy thin and light.

You ever try Nike prestos? They're kind of like those but with a more flexible sole because it's split all the way up the shoe.

I feel like such a flexible shoe, which is supposed to model a bare foot, wouldn't be supportive for footbag..and might lead to injury. Imagine hardcore shred barefoot.

Then there's the whole sweatshop aspect..but that's pretty unavoidable.

yeah...i have problems with the soles of my lavers breaking and getting huge cracks across the bottom. those wouldnt last me two sessions.

I've tried playing footbag in the climacool naceas, which are kind of similar to the nike free. However, the nacea has a sturdier sole and is good for jogging. There's weird surfaces that ends up happening with the completely structure-free shoes. Tom and I have seen the free in stores and it doesn't look too promising for footbag either. With that sole, you might as well play in ballet slippers it seems...

Yeah, I saw all the free's in the store and one of them had a good clipper and a bad toe, the other had a good toe and a bad clipper, sadly neither had good enough toe AND clipper to be worth buying.

That's pretty much the idea of the shoe, no support at all because "the nature has created the best shock system already - foot".
I'm not sure either if it's good for footbag or not.

i have a pair at home and tried shredding in them. the sole is good and has good cushioning. and if you're a clima cool type of player then they are pretty nice. however the lateral support is really bad. and i don't think they'd survive even a week of heavy shredding.

I´d say test em.when a good deal runs over me on ebay i get a pair.i mean,who would have thought that climas are good shoes for shred?when i saw my first clima i was like"wtf

no way"...so test em,in the long run....if they dont survive a week.fine,then lets trash the idea...and go find other good shoes

I tried these shoes saturday and they are freaking awesome light thin material and no break in time!!!! If I had the money I would buy these shoes!

I'm warning you guys though seriously... THey're expensive shoes and wearing them to shread would mess them up in no time at all. The outer material is not made for stuff where your foot might shift around in the shoe sideways alot. Also it's easy to roll your ankle in shoes where the whole outer shell is stretchy material.
If you get a really good deal i'd go for it or if you might use them as actual running/walking shoes if you don't like them for shredding, but i'm just trying to save you guys some cash. They can't possibly be any better than Nike Prestos which are probably 35-45 dollars by now.
