Is it true what I am hearing about France?

Today in an email, I was told the following, which I directly quote:

"The number one best selling book in France is "September 11: The
Frightening Fraud," which argues that no plane ever hit the Pentagon."

I was also told that, as a Jewish person, I shold boycott anything french, that France was the most anti-semitic European country, etc.

Then however, I read that the President of France Jacques
Chirac said (quote):

""Stop saying that there is anti-Semitism in France," President Jacques
Chirac scolded a Jewish editor in January. "There is no anti-Semitism in
France.""

I am interested in what you know and have to sayabout the previous statements. I only believe half-heartedly what I hear on the news, or what is told to me by other jews who are most likely letting their own biases affect their decision-making. However, I am more inclined to believe you, the footbaggers here on this board, because I believe that we often think differently than the masses who are so easily brainwashed. So please tell me:
What is the anti-semitic situation like in France ? Are you aware of it? Is it manifested on a daily basis? What do you feel personally about Jewish people? Are these false accusations?

The United States blind unwaivering support for Israel no matter how many attrocious things they do has become the standard. France condemned Arial Shreon for bombing an apartment building to stir up violence and keep himself in power, and America said "That's okay! You're Israel!", and Ferance said "Don't bomb apartment buildings! That's wrong!" So France was temporarily labeled anti-semitic by the pro-war propoganda machine.

Ahh, that's the situation? If I would have known Isreal was involved, my vote would have changed... No offense to Jews, but the US lets them get away with too much crap... It's amazing.

How can we support such people that should be considered terrorists?

It's not the Israeli people, it's just Arial Shreron. The people are basically his pawns; as long as he pisses everyone on the middle east off, there will be violence. As long as there's viol;ence, Arial Sheron gets elected, because he is the tough guy! I'ts the same situation as here; Bush does outrageous things to try to provoke terrorist attacks so everyone will fall in line with him out of fear.

Well.. I sorta sit corrected... But regardless of what happens, we let him get away with too much. It's a good thing the people of the US are educated, that way they know th... wait a second.. School budget cutting, dickhead president with questionable motives... Gee... what are the odds?

Hey Guys, I heard some news today that ties into this thread.

(March or April 2003) France's trade surplus with the United States:

$97 million dollars (French gain)

(the next month, and possibly every month since) France's trade DEFICIT with the United States:

Over $100 million (French loss)


And to answer Senor Grommets question, there have been some attacks on Jews and synagogues within the past year in France.
Police sometimes have to guard elementary schools. Police were quoted saying Jews shouldn't wear their traditional headwear to avoid attacks. I think that is offensive. However, just today I heard that there is a (small) movement in France to ban women from wearing headscarves in public. So much for "Liberty, Equality...blah blah blah"
France also has an immigration problem. It's demographics are rapidily changing. It is an admitted fact in France that they fear escalating violence with these new changes. Unfortunately for French Jewry, they will, historically get the short end of the stick.


I don't know if France is the "most anti-semetic country in Europe". I also read that more Jews are moving to Germany than to Israel(in some recent time slice). I think German law says they issue passports or citizenship to Jews. I could be wrong on that last point.
