Modified.ca changes Domain
Modified.ca changes Domain
As many people are realizing, they cannot access modified.ca. The reason for this is that the domain has expired and the person who originally registered it has disappeared off the face of the planet. We are currently in the process of getting "modified.in" registered as our new domain name, but it may take a bit of time for Mike at Modevia to work things out.
Be patient and spread the word that Modified will be up and running at full steam as soon as possible.

I thought as much...
Isn't the domain up for grabs as soon as it expires assuming it has not been scheduled to be renewed ahead of time?
And yes, amazing how unregulated domain names are. You can type whatever info you want into the WHOIS. Doesn't have to be real, etc.
Also, what country listing is .in?
If it doesn't work, consider some free domain suffixes, like .cx and random new countries.
Hmm...Modified.cx would certainly be interesting.

Modified.* are pretty much taken.. but .in and .bz were available. I'm going to monitor modified.ca and try and register it as soon as it drops out of the system, but right now there's nothing else I can do. At least you can use modified.in for now.
What a pain- I'm sorry that this happened. By the way.. if anyone knows or knows how to contact Jeremy Watts, please let me know. Last time I knew, he was in Kingston, Ontario.

I simply liked .ca because it made me feel more at home.
Props on getting things back up and about in a timely fashion.

Tom, you are certainly welcome to contact Jer, however I don't want him to register modified.ca I want him to tell them to open it back up for grabs so that Mike or I can register it. I don't want Jeremy to register it again just to drop off the footbag planet.
.in is working fine too. While there are still stragglers out there that number is shrinking every minute and they will find their way back.

Ohhhhh, so the .ca referred to Canada. For some reason, all these year I thought it stood for California.Skippy! wrote:I simply liked .ca because it made me feel more at home.Props on getting things back up and about in a timely fashion.
