Sandals?

Post by aweiksnar »

I recently tried playing in flip-flops instead of my normal shoes(520s). I actually found out that I can play at pretty much the same level, but I use less effort and have a smoother style. My current level is 2-3 add tricks. Will continuing to play in these hurt my game as I progress, or should I stick with them?

Tons of people used to play in sandals. I'm pretty sure the Boulder Blades (Eli Piltz, Dave Holton, Daryl Genz, etc -- Rippin?) all played in sandals for a period. Dave continued to play in them forever. I think the most popular sandal for freestyle was called the "Tiva"...no idea by which company, but a fellow Hackrificer used them too. I tried his pair once. I found that clippers got stuck sometimes, but it made osis really easy...and stuff. Oh, and Josh Wayborn, another Hackrificer, plays in sandals too.

daryl doesnt use sandals anymore, but you can definitely tell it influenced him, now his lavers have the whole entire front modded off so that they have the same toe effect as sandals, they were pretty sweet

Daryl was inspired by Tiva's to cut off the entire front of lavers. He said Tiva's were cool, but the only problem was thaton clippers the bag would sometimes get stuck between the sole and the bottom of his foot. A prolbem which lavers solved.

The version of how Daryl's shoes evolved that I heard was that the toe box cut his leg doing nuclears so he removed it. I dunno which is correct-Daryl?
