so stitching is pretty hard. I just want to say I have a lot of respect for people that have the precision and patience needed for this.

I tried making a tshirt 12 panel bag... none of my edges were the same size i think and i just.. royally fuct it up, haha. you can see from the picture down there...

I'm going to have my friend sam try and teach me in person but for now I've given up.

the stitch should go through both pieces of fabric without looping around the edges.

On my post on that page, there's a link to some good info, and the pages on the New Bags thread that are helpful as well.

I would suggest you try a few 4 panel Mr.Sandbag designs first to get the hang of how a bag comes together.

After you perfect those, then you go on to higher panels

yeah the pic with the holes already punched in was useful, i still dont get where to start, or how to connect the rest of the panels after that first step though.. i'll figure it out soon as i get some material and maybe a bit of instruction.. i think im gonna go straight to the 32, since that's all i'll ever want to play with.

you should not jump right to 32s, you should make 4, and other paneled bags before a 32. beleive me you will not be happy with the result of that first 32 if you dont get better at other bags first.

yea it looks like you were sewing that bag instead of stitching it. the stitches should not loop around

Dude, listen to the people man. Make a few 4-panels before you jump into 32's so you get comfortable with the running stitch. When you've got that down pat, you can go make some 32's. One thing to mention is that t-shirt fabric is difficult to work with in such small pieces and I definitely suggest you go to your local fabric store and check out their scraps bin for some sort of upholstery suede or panne or crushed panne. It doesn't cost much and you'll be much happier with the result of your bag because you won't get frustrated with working with shitty material.

Josiah Digges stitched 2 4-panel bags before Tom and I guided him down the path of a 32. Look at the bags he's making now! Practice the running stitch. It'll make things less frustrating when you're stitching a 32.

I rarely stitch a whole 32 in a sitting. I have a little kit I carry around with me and I stitch whenever I've got an opportunity to. I especially like stitching when I'm waiting for food at restaurants. I'm very ADD and I find a 32 just the right sized project. :D

Started stitching my first 32 with Emily's help. It's going pretty well, 1/6 of the way done. :D I had a few minor problems but Emily is really helpful and I'm liking it so far. very relaxing.. time passes like nothing at all.

Tom and Peng's 32 stitching tutorial

It's a very helpful tutorial on how to start and connect your pents and hexes together. It really helped me out on how to organized my stitching just a bit.

Do you have any pics of your progress with the 32?
