"Easy" tricks that took you a LONG time to hit
i FINALLY hit eggbeater bs today after.... 21 months of footbag.
and it took me like 16 months to get whirl so i can hit it.... sometimes
BUT
some people have trouble learning consistent spinning and ducking and i had that down in like 8 months. Anyone else have any weird quirks to their repertoir?

mirage and clipper
These two were by far the hardest tricks for me to learn, and now they are no problem for me. It took me like 3 weeks before i hit my first mirage, and clippers took me like 3 months to get consistent. Those two tricks were a bitchhhhh to learn, but im glad i stuck with it.
And now whirls are giving me a hard time. Ive hit them a bunch of times, but i rarely hit it midstring, and i cant hit it consistently whatsoever.

Mirages are rediculously hard for me. I started actually practicing them about three weeks ago after I had clipper, butterfly, pixie set, legover, and pickup down pretty good. My mirage consistancy is pretty crappy, however, just a two or three days ago, I tried Illusion for the first time. I'd heard they were harder than mirages so I wasn't excepting to land it. I landed it. Well, now my illusions are actually a good deal better than my mirages, in just two or three days.

lets see here, I have always been working on whirl the whole time Ive been in to footbag and still suck at it, its impossible. smear-, I feel like I have a good enough pixie set and mirage but it still gives me problems. Pickups- I have never even tried to learn them because they always hurt my hip when I first started so I dont do them. Fairy sets- also hurt. Drifters- always hits my leg, always. Most of all- DLO: I work on it every session and I am convinced I will never hit the trick.

Henry, eggbeaters and spins are totally both huge, tough things to learn, I think. I've noticed tons of people have trouble with eggbeaters, and the same with spinning. I think spinning is the hardest thing in the entire sport to learn.
I had big trouble with basic illusion moves. Like, doing the 2-add illusion > fairy [repeat] drill made me happy when I could do it more than one rotation! Blizzards and smudges were hard for me... Regular swirls (hit once on each side).
Fairy sets...though I think those may be generally difficult too? Who's to say what should be easy, though?
Oh! Osis! Hardest bloody move ever.

It took me 6 months to understand that doing pixies and fairies require the straight set then dex, instead of comprising both at the same time.

I've yet to land clippers with a consistency greater than 1%ish.
My legovers are pretty much cake now. Barefoot at least.
Mirages took me a while to learn. From what I've been told, I ams till doing them wrong, but at least they work. At first I tied to pull my leg over the bag for a while...Didn't work. Neither did leaping sideways over the bag work.
And that evil 'hop'. I still don't have it!
I'm such a newb!
