The hacksterbator in Honolulu (April 21-26)

aloha hawaii shredders and shreditas!

so my family and i will be taking a well deserved break after a hectic year and a killer winter by maxing and relaxing on the beach. as of right now it looks like honolulu is our destination of choice but still isn't completely confirmed. I wouldn't be able to shred every day, since i want to spend most of my time surfing, but i'm sure i could set aside a day to tear it up (as best my injured lower half can).
the date of arrival would be the 21st of april and i would leave the 25th or 26th depending on flights and things. i know it's short but i have to spin at a big party on the 28th and i need at least a couple days to work on my set and get my skills back after a solid week or so of studying for exams and the vacation.

okay, c'mon i know there is at least 1 person in hawaii who kicks, i've seen him posting in the forum. not sure if it's the same island or not but atleast give me some hope! we'll i guess i'll pop over to .org and look up club listings...

Oh woops, hey man...

I never read here.. While I do live in Hawaii, I live where we call the "big island". It's actually called Hawaii but we use Hawaii to represent all the islands.. Honolulu is on another island unfortunately; Oahu... But you said it still isn't completely confirmed? The big island is really nice too! (It actually has the live volcano which you can see the lava, so awesome). But no one really likes the big island..Oahu I guess has everything, I don't like going there anymore..too much of a city..yeah.. Well whereever you go, Aloha! (and sorry for not posting..)...

alright, so you're on a different island, and so far you are THE ONLY active shredder i have made contact with who lives out there. there are many clubs listen for hawaii, and so far no one has mailed me back saying that they even play.
a live volcano does sound pretty interesting and might be a selling point to get my family over there. one question though, how is the surfing on the big island? would i be able to find a place to rent a board and or get lessons/ a guide to take me to to the good spots? i really wanted to spend some serious time surfing, SO if i can surf on the big island with out having to go out of my way to get it done, i will try to get out there instead of honolulu.
