Camera Troubles
Hey all, I am having some trouble getting my computer to detect my camera. It was working a few months ago, and since then I have reformatted my computer. Now when I try to plug the camera into the USB my computer won't detect anything and I can't capture any footage. The camera is a Sony Mini DV camcorder (handycam) DCR-HC32. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Help is much appreciated and your reward are some videos by the EFC.

When you reformatted perhaps you lost the drivers for USB? Or drivers that (may) have come with your camera on a disc or something?
HAve you also considered getting a firewire card? USB is complete shit for DV transfer, you get very low res footage.

Your drivers definitely got erased if you reformatted. You need to reinstall that shit.

Could be something to do with Windows plug n play device drivers? Or your USB drivers?
Im just shooting ideas, i dont know if these are the problem... or if they are even real things hahah...
EDIT: Maybe also try using the 'Add Hardware' function. Go to START> CONTROL PANEL> ADD HARDWARE. It has some auto-detection function. Dont know if this is helpful though...
Its tough dealing with computer problems sometime, if you cant see the screen in person...
