Before and After: My Journey In The Realm Of Colorful Lavers

I won't post this in "Post your Shoes" because I spent far too much time for these to end up another picture in 20 some-odd pages of shoes.

5 hours. That's how much time it took for this transformation to occur. The idea? Full white Lavers = blank canvas.

I ordered these from zappos.com:

Ahhhh, fresh canvas. First I modded them up, taking care of the inner canvas and such. Then I took the challenge and moved onto the colors. I used sharpies and a gold paint pen.

Here is the result.

Sprayed with acrylic, and then scotch guard, to protect the colors and make them more pretty.

This was tedious, and it took a lot of patience, but it is more than worth the result.

In my quest for unique shoes, I found just that. And you can too! Be creative! You will be more happy by your own customized shoes than by some special edition Lavers that you and 100 other guys all have.

Yea, can't say I feel cool when sitting with my friends and we all have the exact same shoes in the hall in the morning, with kids walking by and giving us odd stares. Even though it's only two right now, it'll be 3 soon.

And coloring them with sharpie won't help.

But NICE Job on the shoes.

BTW - Where do you get that lacing? Is it better than the one given here?

We had the first session with JL modded lavers tonight. From far away these things look like their own brand of JL shoes. He hit some sick shit tonight in these too including 21 strongside clippers in a row, plus a sweet 4-add that I can't give away because it will probably be his sick 1. When these things get fully broken in, WATCH OUT. JL-MOD FO LIFE SON, ATX SHOEZ IN THE HEEZY.

Jesse you have inspired me i have been thinking about this but wondered if they would look good and now i think man the "JL" lavers are sweet ima do it my self as soon as i have enough money wich should be some time next week im doing it ill post pics when done.

yeah i should have them ordered by wednesday at the most yay im all stoked. OHHHHHHHH holy crap i remembered im going to my dads tomorrow my grandma who spoils me is there ill be like grandma can i plazz have like 20 dollars cause my mom owes me 25 i have 5 and my friends also giving me 20 yessssssss

Accidently read over this. Actually, the lacing is my own experiment. I like it so far, but I dunno if it will be the best. I always experiment with new lacing techniques, it's fun.

I don't think I have one, but I'm sure there are ones. I am actually thinking about taking people's shoes and coloring them for them, as one of my friends has already requested this.

Everything looks good, but colouring the soles with markers looks kinda shab. I think when I decide to colour my soles, I'm gonna mask off the shoe and just spray the soles with paint. That way it'll be consistent looking, y'know?

hey hey....what a keen shoe that is...i like,alot.i will draw all over my shoes as well as soon as i find a good way to protect the colors from running and shit...

and the lacing is sweet,i somehow got the same when i first got my lavers.i somehow confused the lacing i wanted and ended up have this.and i say...it rules.you have a kind of a rail for the clippers,it helped me in the beginings,cause i tended to catch the inside stuff more to the eyelids,and since there was this rail,were the bag got caught,i realy fast realized that i have to change this

YESS going downstairs to order my lavers right now. Whooooo buying paint pens tomorrow and if zappos is as fast as it ussually is then i should have them around thursday yay.
