Wow, I once again haven't soled in ages, I hope I don't keep this one solo every 2 weeks up for the whole year!

For some reason I feel like i'm playing well despite the no soloing, even butterfly is feeling ok! Just osis sucks.

If I osis in a string it's atleast 50% chance of dropping, but butterfly is pretty low chance of drop now :)

I only played for 50 mins today with the guys, and it was raining and freezing but it was fun!
I had blurry drifter bsos off my foot again today. I hit some fun combos like atomsmasher > fairy ss whirl > dlo (it's really hard for me to set stright out of whirl STILL).
The coolest thing was that yesterday I hit my 2nd 20contact guiltless string ever, and today I hit 2 strings over 20 contacts guitless in like 5 mins cirlce time :D YESSSS.

I love footbag.

Wow, finally had a session last night, but it was just like 15 mins because it was 1am and I had just shaved so stiiiiiiiing!

I hit blender > blurry clip and then blender > blur and then blender > pdx whirl!!!!!!!!! YES! Blenders are on the way up.
Also a few pdx blenders. Then today I hit blender > osis, blender > dlo and pdx dlo > fairy legover bsos.

Today, had a shred for like 2 hours in the freezing cold! I still felt like I played ok, I hit 2 more 5adds bsos (i've hit 4 different 5adds bsos now :D).
They are, fairy ducking osis, fairy ducking butterfly, and 2 new ones today:
Backside blur!! (also hit my first bs blur on flipside lol)
and... BLURRY DRIFTER! yay :)
And a new move: NOVA! (Symp dlo) I never thought I would hit that.
I also hit some other stuff like legbeater > blur bsos and 12 contacts of butterfly > blur and 10 contacts of fairy ducking clip > pdx mirage... can't remember the rest. GOod day :)
Then I played later on for like 30 mins and hit fairy flail! Yay!

I still want to solo some time :s

Had a small session with Caroline on Monday (yeah, I know this post is a little late  )
I gave her some new options for schooling her clippers in the attempt to start getting a straighter set, with more controll. She seemed happy with the concept of setting (for example) right toe>left foot clipper>repeat.

I played poorly, but I think it was partly due to the music choice (someone wanted to put Linkin Park on and I farkin hate that). I hit a nice clip set dlo, and decided to try bubba beater, with no luck.

Then some drummers turned up and started playing. The Linkin Park was turned off (thank god) but I found the volume of the drums, and the rythem very off putting, so I quit.

All up, my session went for about an hour.

Wow I love playing to live drums :O

Shreded today for under an hour INSIDE the library :D Axle found an awesome place where we can shred without getting caught inside! The surface is brick and it is good and warm and not windy! Woohoo!

I learned pixie set in about 5 mins and hit some new moves:
pixie legover and pixie illusion.
Whirling rake

I also hit pdx whirl bsos :D yay!

I havent posted here in a while.

Had a couple of shred sesh's last week. Schooling barflies atm.
I had to turn down a sesh with Gareth today cause I have an ingrown toenail  Extremley painful, it is.

I lost my Toby bag which made me verrrrry sad and pissed off.
I went to youth and took it with me but im not sure if I bought it home or not. For some reason I seem to remember bringing it downstairs with me the next morning and kicking it somewhere, then not bothering to pick it up. Oh well, maybe its around the house....

I have been fangning around at school a bit latley and I need to start to focus a WHOLE lot more and start going to bed earlier. I have a science assignment due tuesday and I havent started.

Im super keen on getting some money and I handed in another resume at Dicksmiths Electronics today. I hope I get the job. They said they were needing 2 casuals there...

Im looking forward to church this sunday, more than usual. Not sure why though. I have been getting into ska music a bit latley. Bands like "the mad caddies" and "the frugals". It's the shiz.

Well, enough rambling from me.

peace
-Jesse :)

EDIT: Do you guys think I should re-name the blog "The Australasian Footblog" ?

Good stuff Jesse, a job at DSE will rock! I applied for one there a while ago, they haven't gotten back to me though.

Good idea to concentrate on school :) u will need it.

Rained today (damn it) so I went to unipol to play with the 6 Japanese guys! They are getting really consistnat, Ryo hit 6 pixie legovers!
I continued to learn pixie today, it took me about 2 mins to pick it up again and I hit parkwalk and then dimwalk. I think I will continue with it just because it's so easy.
I treid for like 15 mins to hit fog bsos, and I had it off my foot every turn! About 15 times! I can't believe I didn't hit it.
I played with some flails more, hit fairy flail, symp bubba, pdx flail and backside blizzard (but I think it was thin?).
My fairy ducking is so easy now, I hit about 16 contacts (didn't count) of fairy ducking clip > pdx mirage and then fairy ducking clip > blizzard rpt.
Other drills I hit were whirl > ripwalk rpt, 13 fairy legovers (new record?), 24 blurry clips (lol I have been waiting to break 20 for ages).

After shred I went for my first driving lesson LOL! I'm 20 and I can't drive. Then went up to Katie's and we went for tea at a couple from church's house :) that was sweet as, we played some board game called settlers which was fun :).

Good day, busy though. Lots of church tomorrow! It will be church > church bbq for students > home/Katie's house? > night church > bed

Wow, finally a crap footbag day!

I didn't get to play since saturday, but I played today and it SUCKED! My stomach was sore as, I think I have acid problems goin on again :( and I was just playing really crap, I happened to be wearing a shirt (impossible to play in) and I was just getting annoyed at everything.
I had lectures start at 9am today, which is early for me, and i'm just home now (11:30) from church, and my legs friggen ache, something seriously wrong there, I have played 6 hours without getting sore legs, and I only played about 3 today. This SUCKS.

Anyway, I hit pretty much nothing, but here is some of nothing:
dlo > toe drifter rpt
sidewalk > ripwalk rpt (finally)
footed fog bsos AGAIN :(
footed vertigo both sides a bunch of times, just felt too crap to hit it.
Some 20+ contact guiltless (by guiltless I mean guiltless with fewer than 5 or so bops in 20 contacts). New guiltless record is 23.
I hit tombstone first try, which was the only pleasant footbag experiance today.
It didn't help that despite Toby 'not feeling like playing' for no reason at all, he still played well and hit a bunch of cool stuff, 10xdlo, drifter rake(drake?), rev whirling rake bsos, 29 freekin osis.

Oh I hit 10 whirls good side and Toby only hit 8. Hahahaha.

Church was awesome, but i'm beat.

Out.

Yeah, whatever.

On a completely unrelated topic, however.
Lately I've found myself growing distant from the Australian footbag scene. Well, the footbag scene in general, I guess.
Perhaps part of it has to do with the new way the Ausfootbag forums are being governed, resulting in a total lack of new and interesting posts. This was something that I voted in favor of, to a degree. I was in favor of the forums being more regulated with its content. This was with the idea of striving toward a more professional (organisational) attitude and, therefore, a better public appearance in the hope to drum up more financial support for the sport, and the organisation.
However, I believe part of the problem lies with the fact that no specific plan was outlined with regards to the editing of the forums and, as a result, the council has been a bit hasty in 'shooing away the riff-raff' from the outskirts of the organisation. I believe more of a weening program should have been put in place, with the goal to have a heavily moderated forum active by the commencement of the new look website.
Unfortunately, the decision was made to just start deleting sections and many Australian players appear to be upset by the move. I'm partly to blame, I guess. For that part, I feel guilty, but only because I didn't care enough to have tried to voice my opinion (leaving the issue after just one post).
Perhaps another reason I'm beginning to drift away from the online scene is due to financial issues. First, let me say I'm not here to point the finger at anyone, and I don't feel bitter or angry... just a little disappointed. At the Australian Championships, this year, I organised the accommodation for many of the interstate (and some international) players. To do this, I had to pay for the deposit, as well as for my own accommodation. This whole process was very stressful for me as I had some people pulling out and others changing dates... The first few days left me more concerned about who was staying where and paying what, rather than enjoying myself and the footbag. Somewhere in the process, I neglected to fully chase up all the deposit money owed to me. This I see as my fault, as I have a hard time broaching subjects of money with others. I'm not doing that great at the moment (money wise), and I understand that others were in the same boat... this led me to tip-toe around the subject - to my loss.
I'm not chasing that money up. Please don't make that assumption. I could not do that because I have no record of who paid what, when (my fault again). So, even if I wanted to, I could never really know who did owe me.
Another rift exists between me and the footbag community because of... well, because of my motivation. I still have sitting in my room, Ken's hoodie which he left at the airport as he was leaving to return to his home in the USA. I still have his address, and have every intention of sending it back to him, but I find it hard to justify the cost, right now, of doing so when I'm struggling to keep my head above water. And this is not the only thing... Mini DV tapes I need to send to Scott K - footage of the Aus Champs that I promised him!
Like I said, motivation is a big killer in 'my' world. I'm not often motivated to shred beyond my usual Monday nights, although I often want to. So I can understand how other people can suffer from the same problems.
There are other issues that are causing me some distress, with regards to footbag. But that is on a more personal not, which I would not like to bring up here, right now. That person might have an idea if they read this post. That issue is probably one of the keystones in my greater discomfort with the footbag scene. Hopefully they'll be able to sort things out, and in doing so, a number of my problems can be knocked on the head in one foul swoop.
I know this is rather ambiguous, but I'm not here to point the finger, or lay blame with anyone.
The fact is, that I am finding myself caring less and less about the sport. I've already resigned from the Australian Footbag Council, I did that in Melbourne. But right now, I don't care where the future of Australian footbag lays. I don't care if there's ever another championships, let alone another event of any kind.
I do want to keep playing, though. And I will continue with my Monday night sessions, and I will keep encouraging Caroline and Jesse (and Hagesy) in the development of their skills. I look forward to our next Queensland gathering, and shredding with people.
But that's it.
Nothing more.
Things might change. I might get out of this 'slump', but... well, in life I've not felt this happy for many, many years. And I want to keep moving forward. I would like footbag to remain a part of that life, but I'll let the future do its thing. I'm not making plans.
So, you probably won't see me round the forums much anymore.
You might... but then again, you might not.
We'll see what happens.

Hey Gareth,

I left you a message on your phone about 4 months ago now, I can only assume you didn't receive it.

Anyways as for Ken's hoodie, just send me an email with cost and your bank details and I'll transfer the money over.

Thanks Mate

Church is awesome! There now you have heard it three times Anz :p

It's 'geek' not 'geeg' by the way :p.

Kamil, I have been posting in here a bit for the last few months, just for fun really, I look forward to your entrys for the online competitions!

MY CLIPPERS ARE DEAD!
I don't know quite what happened, but I think when I washed my shoes it effected my clipper rails somehow, the insole sticks out the inside a bit to make a lump and so every clipper I do on flipside especially rolls off! DAMN IT!
So now I have to relearn clippers. This has also made my last few sessions utterly frustrating, so I feel like i have achieved very little.
I can't think of any new move I have hit this week, it has been crap weather everyday till today, and I haven't soloed in like a month because I just don't have time to.

On the bright side, I footed food processor the 4 or so times I tried today, and one try I caught it and flicked it into my ass beause I didn't realise i had it! Doh! I'll seal that sucker soon.

Anz, Church is awesome.
Gareth, you should come to church!
Kamil, keep posting in our blog :D
Hagesy, get your fat ass on this blog and start posting again! I want to know how your going.

Nic, maybe you could cut out the part of the insole that is sticking out...Also, could you please ask Toby to send me a replica bag of the last one he made me? (small and perfect)

well
I have had to turn down shreds with Gareth which is really bad. I want to play. My ingrown toenail is getting badass and I need to start looking after it a lot more or the toenail might have to be removed!

Far out @ school.
I got my science assignment finished, luckily. (two periods after it was due)
I think I'm falling behind in maths aswell, mainly because I take all the notes but I dont really focus into what is being said and therefore I struggle when it comes to actually doing the work. Also, I have done my home work the last 3 times it has been given. I studied pretty hard for my business exam and I'm quite confident that I will get a good result
:)

BAH. History. We are doing world war's and gallipoli and all that stuff and I am like....the biggest n00b atm. Far out. We had to write some diary entries on how the life at war would have been for the soldiers and I didnt get it in on time. So I had to spend todays lunch break doing that...and now I have a detention tomorrow cause I still didnt get it done! Also, I think my ass is dragging in the rest of my science class. I really need to start to focuss.

Latley I have been saving hardcore for an iPod video. I used to be so anti iPod but I have atleast 25 gig of vids on both my computers and if I got a 60gig iPod video, that would suit me nicely!

well
enough from me
adios
