Big Ens yesterday. Greg and i bagan to shred at 21h45, and we worked on many mooves. Greg seems very motivated these times and that's really good. He's improving a lot and promises a lot. He gave me advices for symp. whirls, a moove that give me a lot of difficulty. Frank joined us later during night and shred a bit. He had really good runs and had many successives sets that was nice to see. For my self, i hit for the first time sumo and was really surprised that in each attempt (2 times), the delay was on the toe box ready to be set again. Weather is getting a bit better, so soon we'll be able to shred outside. See you.

No ENS yesterday because of the CPE manifestations. And it will may be close next week if it stills actuality. This sucks. It's not warm enough to shred outside even if we have beautifull days. So, i'm making bags instead. Hope it'll get warmer soon. I can't wait to shred outside.

i remenber you. You were at rnh contest in 2005. I don't know if you remember me, but it was only 3 months i've been playing when we met. Nice to see you again.

Today was a golf day at Bercy. I didn't stay long cause i played awful and needed to do other things. Can't wait tomorow for shred.

We don't know if we're able to shred at the ENS next friday because of the CPE manifestation. It's getting ugly there since manifestation get violent. Well, hope this end soon. The ENS is one of the nicest place to shred in Paris while it's cold outside. See ya for more news.

Bonjour! This is my first visit to the Paris blog, but I have very fond memories of playing footbag at Trocadero during my last stay in France back in '03. Keep up the blog, and keep up the sweet scene in one of the greatest cities on Earth!

Thanks Jake, it's always good to have nice posts.

So, for the second week in a row, ENS was still closed for footbag. The conflict with the CPE, a law that allow any boss to fire out the employed for his first job during two years without any explination (don't know if i well translated, i have some difficulties to translate in english). It's getting worse in Paris and confrontation between police and manifestants get pretty ugly and violent. Many students feels their selfs in precarity because of this law. The bad thing, is that there's some kind of hooligans that burns cars, hit persons in group, and they're totally out for the reason why people manifesting.

But the good neews, is that we have a gym all day this saturday, an event called "comme à la maison" (like in da house). Somehow, playing footbag is a way of getting away of life problems, and the footbag community is really nice. So plenty hours to shred and at night, party in a club house with four square, mini net compets. It's gonna be great. See ya for more news.

Actually the CPE is not a law. It's a new type of contract. One of the many many clauses of said contract is indeed a two-year probationary period. Still, if you'd take the time to actually read what other clauses make up this contract you'll find that it can be extremely advatageous for the employee. You'd be surprised at how many pro-CPE (myself included) there are.. unfortunately the media likes protest marches and LOVES burning cars...

Hey Max, was really great to shred with you this saturday. It is great that you showed some concept mooves that i'm not used to.

To get back to the CPE, i didn't try to have position on the debat. I just wanted to report what was happening in France. I'm no anti-CPE, neither pro-CPE. I'm not that informed to pronounce my self.

About CPE being not a law, i'm not sure. The 9 february 2006, CPE law was voted (51 for, 23 against) at the "assemblée nationale". Also, Villepin, the principal politician involved to it, talk about CPE law :

"Des aménagements pour le CPE.Dominique de Villepin a exclu ce soir de retirer le CPE. "La loi qui a été votée s'appliquera", a déclaré le Premier ministre sur TF1. "Cette loi sera mise en oeuvre mais je souhaite compléter les garanties qui sont apportées par des nouvelles garanties qui doivent être négociées avec les partenaires sociaux" dans le cadre de la loi, a-t-il ajouté. Le Premier ministre a notamment proposé la création d'un "référent" qui accompagnerait et conseillerait les jeunes salariés tout au long de la période de deux ans au cours de laquelle le contrat peut être rompu sans justification. En cas de licenciement, Dominique de Villepin a proposé le versement d'un "complément de rémunération qui s'ajouterait à l'allocation chômage pour une période, par exemple de trois mois, et qui permettrait au jeune d'avoir une formation complémentaire (...) de façon à retrouver rapidement un emploi". Il a également proposé aux partenaires sociaux d'évaluer régulièrement la mise en oeuvre du CPE et il a émis le souhait de les rencontrer en avril pour "ouvrir un dialogue sur la précarité". Par ailleurs, il a affirmé que le maintien du CPE malgré la mobilisation des jeunes n'était "pas un enjeu personnel"." And i agree with you max by the fact there's many advantages with the CPE, but as i told a bit earlier, i'm not that well informed to take position.

I just wanted to say I'm glad for this thread. I didn't know there was a Paris blog. I stayed right by Rue de la Republique for 3 months a few years ago, but never met any footbag people. It was just for kicks in those days... hehe. But I plan to make it back there sometime and meet everyone! Keep it up!

ENS was finally opened this Friday and some footbaggers were there : Franck, Greg, Serge, Sidart and my self. Was really nice to shred with all of them. It's great having many good shredders with different styles.

Beautiful days are finally coming up. That's definitely a good thing.

Almost a year with no post in this blog. So let's give some news.

Warm days are coming, so it will be outdoor sess more often.
We are pretty lucky there cause during winter, we have many gyms to train.

The paris crew is doing well. Could be nicer if we had more players, but there still are many good shredders in town.

I'll give more fresh news soon.
