I just had the most retardedly good time on Sunday night.

I saw both Markus Schulz and James Zabiela, two of my top five favorite DJs, in the same night.

I got home around 8:15am.

Schulz is so friggin' spotless...and Zabiela is one of the most involved DJs I'v ever danced to.

Wow, really amazing.

He did like 10 minutes straight of scratch and effects soloing at one point. :)

ooh ooh, for the deenbeeers out there you should all hunt down "voodoo people" Pendulum remix. i just heard it last night, soooooo good! and they couldn't have dropped it a better time either, the floor totally blew up! it's a totally rocky-ravey-hard school-drum and bass track. i'm gonna see if i can't find a way to get it in my crate.

I LOVE breaks aswell, but own mostly compilations and i need to get some new new shit. Im gonna go to town with these suggestions!

Thanks esp to Andrew for so much input, would be sweet to hit some breaks clubs with you one day :D There arent many in Sydney and none where i live.

Oh, you all must check out 'Fasten Your Seatbelts' - Pendulum vs Freestylers
It is the fucking SHIT. Make sure you have the bass cranked up

EDIT: Checked out that Voodoo remix by Pendulum. Jeepers that was wicked!

EDIT2: I am unimpressed. Just found out Breakfastaz are playing in Sydney THIS FRIDAY and i have to work. Fuck that shit.

oh man, i got an e-mail from a website i buy records from saying they got that back in stock (i had it on back-order) and in between the time they sent me the e-mail and the time i clicked the link to go buy it (about 16 hours) they had already sold out... F(censored)

and it gets worse. i saw the flyers for the general midi show on the 28th and guess what, i'm not on it... 8O i'm gonna have to talk with the organizers to see what's going on. i don't really care if i'm cut or not, because to be honnest i'm not sure i could handle the big shows just yet. i'm just more annoyed that they forgot about me/ cut me and never told me. :?

What other big name Dj's reach down to AUS? I know here in Toronto we have it pretty good, and London England is the epicenter, but i have no idea how big scenes are in other countries.

I believe Carl Cox currently resides in Melbourne. 8) Lucky for me, I got to see him in my town, of like 100,000 people, chances like that don't come by often here :D Best night out ever.

i used to spin back when i was 14ish on my friends decks. i was terrible and was starting to get the feel for it when he sold them and ever since i was itching to get my hands on some. so in early december Fibi, a close friend and kick ass dj (also the lady who introduced me to breaks) hands me a plastic bag with something in it. it's her old mixer, and she says i can have it if i promise to buy decks. i came into some money and went out and bought some on boxing day. so really it's only been like 2 months seriously, which is why i'm not too bummed about the show, i'm still really new. oh well i am playing a rawkus house party on saturday which will be tons of fun.
i primarily spin funky breaks, but i also have a love for the dark stuff, i just haven't found much that i really liked recently. i have some d'n'b but i have to be in the right mood it spin it. i am also trying to grow my collection of old school hip-hop. i just picked up "mama said knock you out" the other week, and i'm really stoked on that find! tomorrow (fingers crossed) i have 3 tracks coming in the mail! whooooo!!!!

aaaah fuckin tell me about it, though my problem is lack of time, not money. Just as bad though.

I missed two opportunities to see The Breakfastaz last month, and now next weekend is a big event called 360, with Pendulum, A Skillz, Felix Da Housecat, Kid Kenobi etc headlining...

And i have to work. Non-negotiable.

Great to hear you are doing gigs after 2 months Andrew! thats awesome! you musn't be too shabby
