Jeremy
well we're ALL sick of speaking to you in English. Maybe we should all learn Japanese. Are you more interesting in Japanese? I'd be surprised.
Sorry Jeremy, could'nt resist the oppurtunity to amuse myself at Alex's expense. I guess if this is going to be annual blog hijack I might as well make use of it, perhaps I'll divert the blog to a location of my choosing and hold it for ransom and safe passage to the bahamas.

Yeah cool.
Just thought I'd give a brief "Adelaide Thing" report:
Played twice yesterday - first with Ian and then with Ian and Dylan. Went well - I was playing fairly well for both sessions. Nothing amazing but everything was feeling ok. I totally regulated Dylan who dropped vortex by hitting Irish Mist - set came up perfectly - but it was completely unsealled due to my lack of balance. So I guess I wouldn't count it. Well I've obviously hit it but not sealled it. I don't really understand counting and not counting moves. It's not in competition anyway so none of it "counts".
Anyway kicking with Dylan and Ian was good. They both got fairly frustrated with their games but I still thought they played ok. Ian's furious set was looking really good. Later we went out with Dylan's girlfriend and got drunk.
Oh yeah this is completely random but recently an Australian current events show released some new abu graib prison scandal photos and got flamed by Bill O'Reily. Kind of funny considering "Foreign Correspondant" is an international award winning show for it's journalism and I'm pretty sure Bill O'Reily will never win an award for journalism. Anyway some Aussies sent emails to Bill commenting on his flame - some of which were positive and some were negative. One guy referred in his email to "your silly country" - to which Bill O'Reily said on his show (having just read out the email). "Silly County? You better re-think that buddy". I thought that was pretty funny although don't have time to go into.
Oh yeah and it's good to see that Christian values are alive and well in Nigeria with a recent and disgusting massacre of Muslims occuring a couple of days ago.
Anyway off to kick again

So have been having a really fun time. Ian went home today. Have been busking lots and also saw a really cool street performer - one of the best jugglers I've seen - some really cool stuff. Have been playing pretty well. Hit a dropless routine and also some hard stuff while busking. Been making a little money but could have made more I think. Anyway it's been fun. I'd write up more but I have to go get drunk
Oh yeah I just wanted to add - kind of in reference to what Ken talked about in his blog about the problems with CSS - I think the best thing you can do when a tournament doesn't go how you want it to is to set the example of how it should go - talking about the problems is important too but it feels like in freestyle footbag lots of people have opinions but a very small amount of people actually take any action on those opinions. Sounds to me like Stephen - who is only like 17 I think - did almost all the organising for this tournament. I bet if there were a team of like 10 people organising like with more serious events things would run a lot better. Just a thought. Actions speak louder than words.

Word up y'all.
So on Friday I had a demo at the fringe festival in hobart - it was just a two minute routine. Anyway my bags are getting a little crusty so I gave them a wash the day before. On Friday it was 35 degrees C (95 F) which for me is pretty darn hot. It was 15 degrees above the average temperature for this time of year (59 degrees F). So it was tough. Anyway I had to work and then went home (was performing at 8:30 pm). It was about a 20 minute walk down to the venue. On the way I found that my atm card had expired which meant I had no actual money (until getting paid for the demo). Anyway I got there fairly early and with 45 minutes until I was on got ready to warm up. It was at that point that I realised that I had left both my bags at home
. feeling really really stupid I called up a friend who gave me a lift home to pick up my bags and back. It was lucky he was around because otherwise I would have been really fucked since I'd be unable to catch a taxi and it was too far to run there and back.
Anyway I got to my demo with very little time to warm up and was very stressed. In any event the demo went pretty well - it was my current competition routine I'm working on and it's starting to get better - I've added some good choreography. There's still lots of work that needs to happen but I was happy with 6 drops I think considering everything
.
Haven't really played apart from that.

Cheating? Me?
Just wanted to say that the bag has been sold - actually within about 10 minutes of mentioning that I had a bag. But never fear, I'm starting to get into stitching a little again so I can put you on my list if you want a bag and then I'll email you when I have one for you (and if you've changed your mind I can go down to the next person
)
Beat my brother in chess twice today. It was based around him making serious errors both times though (the move before my checkmate both times) - shitty games but I'll take them.

Thats a pity, I heard that you were a good player and played on the internet. Having no net at home would suck.....Jeremy wrote:Yeah unfortuantly I don't really have the ability at the moment - I either go on the internet at work where I would get in trouble for playing chess or at internet cafe's where I don't want to pay money to play chess. I hear you've got some pretty hardcore skills though
yeah fo shizza. I'm not that good but I'm slowly getting better. From what I've heard I'm sure you'd destroy me and probably everybody else on this forum too
Anyway in completely random other news - I may well start playing soccer!!
- Does anybody else find this as hilarious as I do? It should be fun anyway - it's just mixed indoor soccer so it shouldn't be too tough.

Yah indoor rocks. I like it cos the field is small and the halves are short, so you can run pretty hard and keep moving for most of the game, without losing performance so fast.
Though my performance last season i played wasnt much to write home about hahahah

That is pretty funny.
I recommend shredding before games in the middle of the court to psych out the opponents.
I also recommend making your first kick a really hard one right at the guy/girl who will be marking you, then for the rest of the game they'll give you just a little bit more room.
Also since its mixed i recommend yelling "YEEEAAAAHHH, Right in the ovaries/babymaker" every time you kick the ball into a girl. This will also lead to people giving you more room, or it may start a fight, it depends.

Had a good session today with Jorden, James, Ian and Glenn. Nice to have 5 people turn up to a shred
.
Jorden's game is improving and looking good. He is starting to get nice clippers on one side and hitting atws and legovers on different legs (doing the dexes) so that's cool. James was looking really good - starting to develope a nice fluent style and pushing him self to learn new concepts. Glenn has clearly been practicing and was looking a lot smoother and more solid. Ian is always fun to kick with and was hitting some nice moves.
I had spent the week thinking about flipside flurries for some reason and surprised myself by hitting a run with flurry bsos totally out of the blue - I wasn't thinking flurries at all - the just happened. Not sure if I've ever hit a flip flurry before - although I've hit it crispy style and symposium so no surprise that I did - but it felt really good and easy and later I was busting them out on both sides with out too much difficulty. Whirling dlo as opposed to barraging legover is the way to think of it I think - although I guess it depends on how your game works. I also hit a nice grifter midstring which might have been new for me. Mainly I drilled my flip barfly which is starting to feel better and although I've been able to hit it for a long time, it's starting to feel how the strong side feels which is really my goal. Good session and another kick on moday too
