So I still want to start this new club. Membership will be open and it will be all 4S players.
My focus has obviously shifted from shred and it leaves me wondering what to do with CIC, a freestyle club. I feel I should be a lesser part of it simply because I have lost my passion to shred some time ago (come to think of it, I would not even qualify to be in the club under the guidlines I set for membership) and I want to put everything I have into 4-Square. But at the same time, CIC has grown into more than just a bunch of people I freestyle with. Someone asked in the CIC blog if it was a footbag club or a social clique. It's both. Most of the members are footbaggers whose friendships and company I cherish dearly and it's not something I could just stop being a part of.
But it's not as though I'm leaving, just moving on (if that makes any sense). I guess the problem is I don't know if I can or should do both? But what do I do for CIC that would prevent me from running C4?

Who asked if it was a social clique? That's high llarious. Yeah so...clubs...u and me and all the OGs always in CIC regardless...even if we stop kicking altogether, even if 30 years from now there are some kids we don't know that have slowly evolved into the club...we'll still talk shit about them when they're not around
4square and freestyle are a part of each other even more so than net and freestyle ever were. Freestlye, hack, and foursquare(and all hackey game variants) are a triumvirate which rule over non-competitive sports and cannot be separated at their core.
Worked a full day which ended with an emergency surgical extraction. Now I gotta do another all nighter to help my brother with school. Mutha fukin fuk shit damn crap fuck shit damn shitty shit.

Played 6-square in the rain with the lane kids. Played a game with a combination of rules and they made up several new ones. Played Ace everyone, play to 50. Midway through it we added Tom's rule, 5 contacts. Just for the hell of it they threw in Ong Bak, Spin Rule or One-eyed-pirate from time to time.
New rules: Plus one, minus two - Any player who aces another player recieves one bonus point. Any player who is aced has two points deducted. Another variation we played was double teaming against a player to ace them gives you a bonus point.
Peter's *** rule:
The King says a letter from the alphabet before serving each round. Players must say a word begining with that letter before they pass or they are out.

Played at Lane again today. This was the first time I've walked out of a game (5 points away from winning) cuz I was tired of a players constant bitching and moaning. Hey, if you suck, too bad. Get better by playing more. You can't play more if you CONSTANTLY argue every fucking time you fuck up. What a waste of everyones time Edit: This might be contradictory to something I've said before... But he wa being a real pain in the ass. It seemed everyone else was fed up with it also.
Ended up tossing a disc around until most of the Lane kids left. Then played some EPIC 3-square with Marty and Cuba. We played the first game straight-up. Marty won but Cuba and I were close behind him on points. It was a great close game. Second game we played Highlander Beta. I managed to ace them both for the win. Another close contest. For the third game we played 5 in a row. This game was H-A-R-D! It proved quite difficult to score 5 points in a row on players who are really good defenders, we must have played for 45 minutes, going back and forth. I was stopped 3 times after gaining 4 points. Marty eventually won this too. I think he's won more games than me the this whole month

This was going into the "What is footbag to you?" thread, but I decided to post it here instead.
I used to think that footbag was my escape from my real life. A chance to just relax and have fun with my friends. Monday I was at a birthday dinner with my best friend and his coworkers when I realized something. This was the first time I was hanging out with people that were in almost no way footbag related (in a long-ass time) and I was very relaxed and having a great time. This sport is not my escape from real life, it IS my real life. I live with a footbagger, I work to buy more footbags and think about my club and playing almost all the time.
Hanging out with these ordinary people was my escape from having to deal with setting up jams, trying to find new players, contacting old players, designing shirts, redoing flyers and all the other shit that stresses me out. How ironic. I would like footbag to be simple again. Where I can just go out and play and not worry about anything else.
