are you talking about the actual genre of techno or are you talking electronic music. if you are talking actual techno, i can't help you, but if you are talking "electronica" check out the "Buying Break Beat and other electronica thread"

thanks a lot everyone. and i will check out that link andrew. i dont know much about techno and electronica, i am just recently starting to like it, mainly because its good to shred to. ill go download some songs and see how they are.

At first its really hard to differentiate between the genres, but with time you find out what you like, and then find out what all the other crap is.

If you want techno (for shred), you should try:

-Umek
-Valentino Kanzyani
-Bob Sinclair
-DJ Rush (if you are feeling tough)
-Marco Remus (if you are even tougher)

Or you could go something more progressive:
-Underworld
-Prodigy (older stuff)

Or something for "easy" shred:
-David Morales
-Cafe Del Mar
-Saint Germain

ORBITAL! Omg, you are my new friend...I also think DJ Luna, Takkyu Ishino, Mauro Picotto, Armin Van Buuren, Yoji Biomehanika, Benny Bennassi and Paul Oakenfold are good for shred.


As for techno that's just for listening - way too fast for shred lol - I'd go for The Destroyer, The Outside Agency, Masters of Ceremony, DJ Catscan, and DJ Outblast.
