how good?
how good?
How good do you want to be at footbag? Really.. Not "I want to hit 10 dex tricks".. I mean, really, how good do you want to be?
A long time back, there were arguments by many that there are no limits and you can be whatever you want to be in this sport..
So if you really want to be xzy good, why aren't you there? Or are you? Does your answer to the first question fit with your beliefs on the second concept?

i remember when I first saw freestyle, I thought to myself, "once I can do clipper, I'll be good enough". a few years ago, I thought, I'll never hit superfly, and I can hit cool links into it now... as for how good I want to be, my concept of that changes a lot. Sometimes, I feel that, realistically, I'm going to hurt myself if I try to get much better, with the way I've been injured so much lately, but then I'll have a great session like today, and I think that maybe I sitll have a way to go.
Footbag is funny. I definitely love what I've got, but I'd love to bust huger.

How good do I want to be? In a word.....
BAP
That's been my goal since I heard about BAP from Red. I've been working on my 5's and my consistancy, and my 6's and everything else so that maybe next year I'll be BAP worthy. I know that it doesn't mean much to most people, and that BAP is just sort of a passe thing now-a-days, but when I finally get in, it'll be the recognition that I actually achieved something in my life worth talking about, that I'm officially a footbag professional.

Yo nick, BAP doesn't make you pro, getting money does. BAP is a great goal, but being Pro, in a sense, can come a long time before you're BAP level. I've been getting paid to do demos and teach classes for years now, and everyone knows I'm nowhere near BAP level.
Just a side note, good luck on your goal. I haven't seen you play too much, I bet you're nasty with drive like that.

I want to be comfortable in any circle i step into, to be able to play at a strong guiltless level covering a good variety of concepts, with a handful of mid-string fives that arent much trouble, and play at that level consistenly. By comfortable i mean that i dont feel out of place in a circle, that im not doing my share of the work so to speak.

I do teach classes and do demos for high schools around the are. So I guess I am pro?... But what I really want is not to be pro in the sense of making money, but pro in the sense of being good enough to compete and shred at the level of the top guys (the "pros").
A little more to the point:
I too have had many goals, not just the getting BAP-tized (lol, I just got that... boy I can be retarded sometimes) but I've also had these goals that I've achived:
Shred in a circle with Lon Smith (my fav. shredder)
Hit 20 guitless
Hit 3 fearless
Hit 5 5's
Get top 10 in Seattle '05
get into a video made by a good filmer, that is then posted on modified (unfortunatly I was sick that last day in seattel, so all of that shred isn't my best
