Not to take anything away from Chris Miller or Lesh, but the 'blur' pattern is the standard 3 colour pattern done by every stitcher ever and not something that Lesh made up.

And same with the CM closing technique, I know of several stitchers that do that too, including carol and jochen and others.

Glad you are enjoying stabbing so much matt!

nice lookin' bags matt. your stitching sooo much faster then i am! i just finished number 8 today and mailed it out to peng. i didn't get a pic before i sent it though. Im actually getting pretty good at the blind stitch. The one i just did on the bag i finished was really good. It was just as straight and gathered as all the other pents.

That rasta one looks ALOT like one i just made matt. Except mine is 6 colors. The stitching and panel size looks alot alike. We definitley need to trade sometime

just played with paul for a long time... 2.5 or 3 hours. we both had some long awesome strings. I think we both had some that were among the best we'd ever done. I had some new combos, pixie paradon> flurry, rev swirl> revup mid string, symp whirling swirl > superfly, aaand, I dunno, I had a lot of fun, I started tightening up in the hip, but I sat and had a good stretch, and put some Ben Gay where it hurt, and I came back for a good 90 more minutes, feeling strong. Lots of fun. came pretty close to montage. Can't wait to hit that.

so yah been really busy lately, but soon things will calm down. I haven't played footbag in a long time

, tomorrow i'm definitely going to play, first time in 2 or 3 weeks!

on the otherhand aside from being footbagless I moved into a new apartment, my roommates are awesome, i went to a few shows (I saw Nine Inch Nails for FREE) they both rocked and going to powerman 5000 in about 30 minutes.

Paul, chris let me know when your free to shred... for the next 10 weeks im free to kick any day after 7 M-U, after 5 on friday, after 3 on saturday, and all day sunday. No classes kicks ass

Good to hear that you finally had a goos seshion! You've been very unlucky with all these hip and knee injuries.

Symp. Whirling Swirl > Superfly is an awesome link. Dimmiest > Flurry is cool "rewind" and Rev. Swirl > Rev-up = stylie.

I hope you won't have more problems with your health, and will be able to shred whenever you want.

Willie and pat won't be getting back from their washington trip until Saturday Night of the geneseo jam weekend. So i don't think they are going to be able to make it. Is there still an interest for next weekend? maybe we can get some other Non RFA chapter clubs to go?

Rich isn't going either. I could pick people up in albany or any place on the way thats right off of I-90 or something

Ok if you guys can't make it out this weekend, we'll get together another time. I'm only going to be able to have a bunch of people stay here if it's over some sort of break, because that's when I can plan on having extra room with my housemates gone. But anyone's always welcome to come out here anytime. There's space for a small group to crash in my living room and the floor of my room.

So if we're going to have a big get together here, the next possible time will have to be during the first half of May. Classes will be done then and I'll have this house until graduation. Then again, a lot of footbag stuff is going on in May, so it might not be the best time. But whatever.

Had a fun weekend based around the Slap Hacker thing. Paul came up a few days ahead of time, and we partied with my friends. We played for a long time on Friday evening. I hit some cool new combos (which I believe I mentioned above) and Paul played well, too.

Friday night we went to a jam party. Paul played violin and I played guitar for a while, and then my arm started to hurt, so I put the instruments down for the night.

Then I got so drunk between the party and running back and forth to the bar that I puked in the bathroom, but luckily I got it all in the bowl, and did it all in one session. Paul had said earlier that he hadn't seen a shit eating grin like that on my face since funtastik, which is funny, because that was the last time I puked from overindulgence. So, as you can see, Friday was not a shining moment for me. But we had fun.

Saturday, we drove to the footbag event. The host kid was kind of an asshole, and he got really pissed when I made note of the fact that he hadn't listed enough information on his footbag.org posting, especially regarding the $5 he wanted me to give him the second I walked in the door. Then he told me that I should be careful because his dad was going to kill me if he thought I was gay. Greaaaat start... Competition was fun, I improvised a 2 minute routine with only 3 drops and some variety, and a few 5s. I also did a dropless shred 30, hit riptide and whirligig in sick trick, and hit something like frontside legbeater> blurry whirl > ps whirl, and legbeater > ripwalk > huge ass stall (for the fag-fearing dad, right in front of him) for sick 3. Then we got super coached with Bevier with some brother bev homegrown, and I tried to play more, but I couldn't do that well. I gave Jordan Wong some tips on paradox mirage, and he busted it! that was sweet. Then we had a sandwich and drove home. Nice little day trip.

I've been stitching a few bags since I got back, 2 now that I think of it. All my bags have found homes so far, I hope I can sell a few more in the near future. I'll probably make one this evening. That will be sweet. I wonder what pattern I will pick! any good ideas?

Im glad im getting that claw like pattern matt! i've wanted to make one but wasn't really sure how to set it up. i can start making them once i get your bag!

i dont think he was attributing these stitchers as the inventers of the technique, merely i think he was acknowledging who he learned them from.

so yah today was my first real session in about 3 weeks or so... and i'd say i didnt do too bad. Had a couple really nice strings, and of course they occurred while some cute deaf girls were walking by, got some signed compliments. Crowds are awesome, especially the female kind, for some reason I play better while they're watching/

some highlights:
string with ducking/diving clipper, butterfly, osis, mirage both sides, tomahawk some filler, some more zulu and stuff, nice long mostly genuine string. some long shuffle strings.

matador > barfly > blur > phoenix
some cool rake stuff
stepping ducking osis
frontside riptide

and this lil tidbit

Hate to hear the host kid was an asshole Matt. At least you had a shitload of fun at the event.

I would've wanted to go, but the NYFA crew had to hold a welcome for a guy in Ohio coming to visit - who never showed up. At least Ken Somolinos was there to fill in the gap.
