What did i do to deserve footbag?

i believe in karma. The whole world sorts itself out by good things and bad things.

So why was i lucky enough to stumble into footbag? And even less of a chance, stick with it?

So many people could play footbag but so little don't. Somehow i got into it with no one around me to play with. What did i do to deserve finding this sport?

Like.... i've never done anything good enough to get something this amazing in return.

I dont know where im going with this. but i was just thinking about it last night before i fell asleep.

It's because you've done alot of little good things in life, karma doesn't have to work on a one-for-one basis. Just being a generally good person pays for alot of stuff in life.

I feel the exact same way you did about footbag and life in general, I feel VERY lucky.

Peng makes me feel lucky too. very much so.

I feel the same way......I just can't beleive that something as amazing as footbag could have come into my life.

maybe footbag is keeping your head in check. I have thought frequently "I bet i'd be an asshole if I'd never found footbag". it led to great friends, a whole new approach on life, and health I thought my body would never achieve

I'm a huge believer of karma myself, and the question of how footbag came to my life comes up sometimes. Like Tom said, it's the little things in life that seemed so worthwhile and it then progresses into something much more fulfilling. I doubt I would've seen life in a lighter perspective without something I can work hard in (for both mind and body), and that was the conclusion I've had for footbag all this time. Something I can strive to do or be for myself.

And in a way, we're all connected. Modified is a good example to keep each other in contact so much so that we're enthralled to talk about footbag with each other. Kevin has a point that it leads to great friends, a new approach to life and benefits to health that we all couldn't have expected if we wasted our lives with something more secular.

Maybe it's infatuation, but I think footbag is my master mistress, and she tells me what I should do with my life in her standards.

Alright, that didn't sound right at all. But if it wasn't for a good friend who introduced me to footbag (Rene Bolanos), Jon Schneider and NYFA to help me solidify my view on it, I wouldn't have stuck with it.

ive always been into freestyle anything. just as long as its challenging, and looks badass when you can show off your new thing .

i dont know that i really deserve footbag. i guess karma is relevant. but i think its probably just some reward for myself cause i work too much to have any time for me.

Hmm. Me? Footbag?

Well, I'm not a social type of guy...most of the time...unless I'm in front of a computer. I watched people play hacky/kicky sack with small intermissions of footbag in circle given by Waylon and Rene and a few more people near college for a month or two. Decided to take action and ask if I could join in. People seemed surprisingly nice and un-assholeish. Which is a huge plus. And they appreciate effort and persistence immensely, which is also great.

Karma, you say? Don't think I have any. I'm just lucky in the sense that the people I met weren't assholeish for the most part. If the people weren't as supportive as they've been, I'd still be sitting in front of computer playing some old Rogue-like RPG.

Anyway, I don't think karma is the big thing for me. Timing is.

I feel a thankfulness when I think of footbag, not a 'man I don't deserve this' kind of feeling. I'm just thankful that people were smart enough, creative enough, and diligent enough to pave the way for so many cool concepts and moves for me to learn. I think I earned my karma by not finding it until after 10 years of hacking. Haha footbag is like hackysack heaven for me.

i played hack for 5 yrs before i found footbag.

but no, im not that good at astrojacks. i can do a few tricks, and wrap them around a bodypart, then catch em. bounce em off the ground, start a trick. fingerflips.

i had all the sets, the hard ones, lightup ones, and soft ones. soft is the best. just like footbag....

I don't have the "I don't deserve this" thing going on... I don't believe in karma or any of that. I think I have footbag because I was devoted enough to keep playing even though no one else I knew did.

i TOTALLY agree with Jamieson on this one. sorry, i dont believe in karma, and footbag isnt actually as completely different from other sports as people act...it requires a lot of hard work and dedication. thats what I did to deserve footbag...played thousands of solo sessions drilling toe stalls and clippers (which i will continue to do for as long as i play, no matter how good i get), stood on one foot spinning my calf around in circles for hours to practice dexes, and abused my body to the point of breaking by playing hours and hours on end everyday for months straight. and yeah, i do love this sport
