post your DAP(s)

Post by brycimus »

ok, i'm obsessed with dap's (digital audio player for all those who don't know - hard drive based player) and whenever a new and better one comes out i feel the need to buy it --- except i'm against ipods, i mean, they're decent players and are good for people who just want something easy, but (1.) they're generally feature lacking (2.) everyone has one (3.) when some people think of DAP or MP3 player, they automatically think ipod (and that the ipod is the first dap to play video, there were plenty before it) - anyway, post pictures of your daps, and if you just use a cd player or something like that instead post that too.

i have two minidisc players - the orange is Sony MZ-N505, the blue is Sony MZ-NF610 which i don't use anymore and the dap (20 gigs) is hte Iriver H20 or H10 20GB

Iriver features - music, lots of equalizer settings (& SRS WOW) photo, text, radio w/ recording, built in mic recording, it's firmware upgradable

Minidisc features - small discs, about 70 - 80 normal size songs, (the blue one has radio tuner with the remote attached to it), line in recording, record with a mic plugged in

by the way, this is the next dap i want it's the Creative Zen Vision:M - the vision:m is VERY feature packed - review http://www.everythingusb.com/creative_z ... _30gb.html read and you will find that you can password protect cough*pron*cough, i mean confidential videos

You should talk to Dap Than about this stuff. He's all about it.

I used to have Sony D-NE700 CD player that could play atrac and mp3s. Now I have a Sony Ericsson K750 cell phone. Has 2mp camera and expandable memory. Ive only got 1gb memory stick but its decent enough right now. Have around 230 mp3s on it. Sad 2gb mem stick cost the same as my 1gb after 8 months. 4gb & 8gb supposed to come out soon but it will cost a shit load. Might make the 2gb price drop though. Its good I dont have to carry around my discman or another mp3 player. Cameras decent enough that I have a good camera when I dont have my digi cam or for random shots or pxting.

I have an iAudio X5. It supports mp3, wma, ogg vorbis, flac, wav. FM radio, voice and line-in recording, USB on the go (transfer files with cameras, other mp3 players, portable storage devices, etc). I particularly like the file-tree browsing and Universal Mass Storage compliance, so I can load music without using any special software.

Anyway, mine is signed by Curtis Fuller, making it cooler than everybody's by default.

Yeah. It's quite unfortunate.

The A2 is nice, but the Archos AV500 seems more polished.

I also have an ancient Creative Nomad Jukebox 1. It uses USB 1 for file transfers hah. I use it for recording stuff in WAV format.
