There was just an explosion in my basement. I'm not even joking, I'm surprised my computer wasn't knocked off the desk by the reverberations.
Here are a couple of things that I dug out of the rubble:

Paradox mirage(more than once)
flip osis(I hit osis over the weekend but forgot to post it)
flip far legover(more than once)
far pickup(more than once)
reverse whirl!!!!!!!! Hell yeah.(more than once!!!)
and pendulum(once :( :D )

I know I said I wasn't going to really work new tricks but I already drilled today and I had the irresistable urge to shred. So I did. I guess working your basics really works.

Caution: Not recommended if pregnant, under the influence of alcohol, if you have liver problems, or are taking some of medication. Some side-effects such as: muscle cramps, fatigue, drowsiness, sweating, and smelliness may occur while learning these tricks.

Just had another drill session. I'm noticing improvement in everything. I think this new method is working really good. The only highlight worth metiong is 156 alternating toe stalls woo(hint of sarcasm and rolling of eyes  ) but once I get these tricks to where I can get them 99% of the time it will be easier to move on to new tricks and less stressfull(I hope).

The gutter just fell off our roof because its so freakin windy. Damnit! Something to look forward to this weekend. Fixing the gutter.

Hey Mike,
Your blog is an inspiring and fun read! You rule!

156 Toe stalls is wicked! I make sure to do 100 consecutive toe stalls per session (with the magic hop). It's like skipping rope. I'm significantly older than you, and out of shape so 100 for me is like death. I really wan't to die when I hit about 80 stalls. Then I black out. When I wake up I just assume I made it to 100!

Went to Dave's last night and he showed me how to do the inside mods so now my Lavers feel so nice. Then we went and played for like 15 minutes because I had to leave. He played barefoot which was pretty sick. Also, he let me borrow the Fourkast video which I must say is pretty freakin awesome. It's just so...AH!...I can't even find words to describe it.

Today I did the toe mods. One, which took me an hour, I did before work. The other I did after work only took me twenty minutes. I had a short 1/2 hourish session like 2 minutes ago. I had some quick links. By quick I mean no pauses between tricks. I'm lovin' it.

Why does my flip clipper suck so much. AAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

On a lighter note I hit some ok shit today. I was so ready to play after a nearly completely footbagless weekend. I got flip infinity first time evr today first try ever. Now its actually easier than my strong side infinty. Moved my strong clipper record up to 16 in a row. I'm so freaking pissed about my flip though. I gotta work the crap out of it.

Also, still waiting for the mosher. When shall it arrive??? :?:

I'm not going to play today since I played two days in a row with Dave. One 2 hour and one 1.5 hour session, so I'm kinda a little tired. Also, my leg kinda hurts when I hop into flip clipper. The shin part right below the knee. I have to work today anyway so its a good day for a break.

Today in gym we were playing kickball on the soccerfield and I was on second. My friend Big Al was at bat. It was the perfect pitch. The perfect kick. It was gone. And I mean gone. So he circles the bases with that "Yeah, I'm the best" face on and as he rounds third he slips. And his hand lands right in some dog crap. But he didn't notice. So he procedes to run home and when he gets there he starts to wipe the stuff off and ends up wiping the dog shit all over his gym clothes, his arm, and the side of his face. How amazingly hilarious is that.

Yeah you had to be there.

My bad on the last one. I hit quote instead of edit by accident.

Anyway, I've been reading some other people's blogs(Dave's and Ashley's) and they're asking themselves why they play footbag. This got me thinking. Why do I play footbag. It's wierd because the most obvious answers aren't always 100% right. Because the first answer I thought of is because its fun. And it is but I think you agree that drilling isn't always fun. Sometimes it is but I mean 100% all of the time.

Footbag is the funnest thing I've come across in a long time. But once you get past the fun what do you play for? I thought about it for a while, and I came up with what I think is the right answer. I play for the future. I drill so I'm ready for my first comp whenever that is. I do it so the next time I actually play I can feel excited. You don't get excited when you're only hitting the same tricks you've been hitting for weeks and you're not hitting anything new. I do it so that someday I can be happy with my ability. I mean I'm happy now but I don't intend to stop trying to learn. I'm not beating myself with a stick because my flip clipper sucks. I work it. So that someday in the future I can use it for some awesome trick that I see in videos and I say to myself,"It's gonna be a LONG time before I hit that."

Sorry if it didn't come out right. Sometimes when I think too hard I have trouble organizing my thoughts.

Start getting excited! Your bag is in the mail and on it's way!

I packed in a few goodies with it.. there is a secret code that lies within the items. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out, so really give it a shot, let me know when you've got the answer and we'll have a good laugh!

I don't really know how to respond to that last one so I guess I will when I get the bag.

Played a little today before work. First time for real in a few days. Weekends are bad for footbag for me because I have so much stuff to do, and monday I had to work.

So nothing really exciting. Over the weekend I hit flip paradox mirage(it's actually easier than strong). Today I got 5 contact tiltless which is my highest documented number but Dave says I've hit more so I don't know. Also, set my official infinity record at 4 so I think thats a good start.

Ya. I'm not sure if Tom was talking to me or you. If you get the secret code, will you share it with me? I won't tell anyone else. Promise.

Good work on th pdx mirage and infinity! I gotta go sckool those now! I just started hitting clipper on both sides...

I like reading your blog 'cause you're just a few steps ahead of me, and you seem to have a wicked teacher. So keep posting your progress and I'll try and keep up!

Hey long time no blog.

I had a short session with Dave yesterday. It was more relaxed and he had all his shortays calling him throughout the session. Nothing really big went down, at least with me. I hit butterfly>infinity>pdx mirage so that was pretty cool and now I have the secret of osis. Also Dave showed me the most amazing trick I've ever seen, the superstar. He hit it ducking and spinning too. I think some of you might know what I'm talking about.

Today I had a short session. I hit osis>infinity and butterfly>osis which felt pretty good. Also I've been trying pixie sets lately and today showed the most improvement. Now I just have to hit something after the pixie. I got relatively close to dimwalk so that would be nice to hit. It would be my first four. After the session I spent like an hour messing around with my laces. Trying different things. Dave showed me the way he does it when I first got my lavers and it opens up the toe box awesomely but it doesn't keep the shoe tight enough on my foot. So I came up with one on my own and I must say it works pretty well. Even though after an hour of trial and error it better work well.

The mosher bag should come tomorrow if my calculations are correct. I sent him the money on a monday and it got to him on thursday so if he sent the bag tuesday it should be here friday(tomorrow).
