If you are planning to do XBD handshred clippers, prepare to crank those wrists. >_>

Having a 'slim' body, long arms, and half-way fused wrists doesn't really help doing XBD clippers via handshred either. You're probably better off.

Hand shred is strange. Even ATWs are strange because you generally don't think of spinning your arm horizontally around the bag; the first instinct is to do it vertically around, which isn't an ATW if I recall properly. Not sure what it is because I can't do it via footbag.

This is so unorthodox! Hand shred in a footbag forum!

I did some hacky around the college campus on Thursday. Got high at the local clubs and did some kicks with some pals outside of the rooms. We made some noise. I was expecting to go to sleep on a free couch in one of the rooms, but either there were too many people or the room was freakin' loud for me to sleep in. Anyway, with weed in my system it would've been hard for me to sleep without taking advantage of its adverse effects.

(No, I don't like to or have any feeling for munchies whenever I get high! Jeez.)

Oh, right. The Philosophy Club at my college was busted for illegal use of weed from security the night I was there. It was probably because there were too many people inside that small space of a room and the people there were making so much fucking noise. It felt kind of embarassing to get caught. I don't want to sound like an ass, but I was glad I wasn't interviewed or got caught. Still, chances are high that a friend of mine might be kicked out of the college or go under probation for good, and the room space will be relinquished for something else. I really wanted to sleep in there for days to come in the semester.

Rubber cement seems like a pretty fickle sealant for patching holes on bags I found today. It takes, if ever, a lot of time for the glue to dry off. And if it does it gets a gooey black exterior from catching dust and other nasty things. I've tried regular cement glue, but I've always found them to be too hard when it dries to be used on bags. Although, they do seem to be excellent for white facile as it looks barely noticeable (especially applying to a bag right after a good wash). A PM to Zilla might be in order about fabric glue and where I can find it? :?

Nothing much about Saturday shred. I was pretty tired all day, or maybe I was a bit unmotivated to shred much today. I was a bit concerned about typing up a paper and studying that was assigned for the coming Monday to care about my progress. I was supposed to ask someone to take a picture of my ankle crank then, but as usual I placed it aside. Patched up most of Ken's Millzilla bag with as much effort as I can with Rubber Cement, but I think it's a hopeless cause. There're holes beyond holes on it, and it'll probably take most of my day just to correctly patch it up than just 20 minutes at Dick Shea's. I'm venting too much on this; never did like seeing a bag with holes.

I ran through some junk around the guest room of my household and found a pretty old Badminton (sp) raquet. It's one of those smaller ones made for children as it doesn't have the long slender neck (just the oval-ish frame and handle), but it was alright. I wanted to try some Raquetbag, even with the handicap I was given. Dexing was easy street with this, but there was no even weight to it. Meaning, I couldn't do sweet hand-juggling with it without having the handle drop quickly to the ground. Plus, the frame isn't like a tennis raquet so I couldn't pull off Nemesis. :( I did pull off osis on it, though.

Just caught sight of two bags coming my way from Tom Mosher and Pengpeng Du in Bags and Equipment. Man, do they look so freakin' sexy! Do real men ask for pink, I say unto you? Hell yes! Now I got to go and look for Fabric Softener so that I can break in the Dada bag evenly.

Freestyle Yoyo is definitely cool.

This has definitely inspired me in doing more freestyle these days, even with 20 degree F weather outside to hinder me. Damn do I have to work on consistency. I just wish I can play outside so that I can play with Lavers much more efficiently. G-units are good, but my feet bake much faster in them. And Climacools... Maybe I'll hit up a local shoe store and try to fit into some Responses for some sizes that might work for me in Originals.

Typing up a paper tonight. I have no muse for it, but I'll manage even if it's a day late. Hope I can slip it into his office by tonight though.

Played a little hacky in the Hellel clubroom at my college. The winter cold season is really affecting my game as i felt that my muscles were stiff like hell when I was playing. That, or the warm and thick socks I wore then was affecting my ankle crank just a bit. This calls for more schooling when the weekend comes I guess. Also, the room was cramped with chairs everywhere, so it wasn't particularly comfortable to play with 4-5 people in a small circle.

I found that my pixies and fairies are fairing better in my Lavers than my G-units. Maybe it's the feeling that my Goonitz feel big on my feet (the all black versions with the basic toe and inside mod). I'm going to have to experiment on them when I have the time. My legovers are still shit, but I'm getting to them quickly. I just need the rhythm.

Still working on my stitching. I need to go to a fabric store and pick up some cheap cloth to work with. Tom's sexy hand-modeling 32 stitching tutorial looks really rad, and I want to experiment in the weekend. I might call shred off in the weekend to work on this, and catch up on some studying :oops. ADD? Yup.
Plus, I'm broke.

Just remembered. I lent some DVDs to Katya and I really hope I get to see her sometime in the Spring so that she can return them to me. She can't play on Saturdays because of her new work schedule. :(

Tom's stitching tutorial. I wrote it AND coded it. Yeah, I'm the man. 8) She took those styley pics though. I was the hot hand model. See my supple supple hands?

Edited. Hope you're happy. God.

And yes Tom, your hands are oh-so soft and supple. I feel so envious.

I'll get to work on stitching sometime Saturday evening. You ARE the man.

Edit: I would like to take a minute in this blog post to say that I've been acting like a total jerk on some posts I've made on footbag.org. I'm extremely sorry for whatever I've said then and there, and yes the comments were immature at most. I can only ask forgiveness, but that does not mean that I can simply erase what has already been said and done. I'm really and truly sorry for what I've said in the past, and will further attempt to clean up my act in the future for the footbag community. Hopefully this trait in my personality does not spread into modified, and I will do my very best to maintain my integrity as much as possible.

Starting out stitching, and right now I'm just in the process of looking for an ideal size for my pents/hexes that are comfortable for me. It's a bit difficult, but I'm getting there. If and when the 32 stitching pack that Tom and Peng has sent me gets to me soon, I'm going to measure them and decide what measurements I should seriously start in stitching.

My running stitch is fairing pretty well as of late, but since I'm using an old and worn-out t-shirt the gather feels pretty inconsistent for me. I'm going to need to go to Lexington (I think) and buy some sort of fabric to experiment with. Also, the final stitch is a bit problematic, not because of how to tie it down but guessing how much should be done on how I'm stitching it. I always end up getting something lop-sided. I'm going to take the week to figure that paradox out.

In terms of shred, I didn't get nor wanted to shred with the NYFA this weekend. My grandmother has taken ill since Thursday and I wanted to take of her for the weekend. It looks like she's stricken with influenza. However, I did school some tricks. I've now gotten the consistency on my pixies down andI'm working on fairies a bit. It's a bitch to see that fairies are set on the side sometimes and it feels like you're reaching out for a paradox set with your flipside leg to dex over it. I'm a long way from Fairy Smasher, and Atom Smasher, no matter how nut-crunching that move is, seems more simpler than with Fairy. I'm still working on my Legovers and the hop that goes with them to get an even rhythm. Also, my flipside clipper is going better than usual. I'd say within a month I'll get it to land consistently.

Awww... Waylon, I hope your grandmother is alright and gets well soon. My best wishes. I know how shitty this year's incarnation of the flu is firsthand and I don't wish it upon anyone.

Also, old t-shirts are't very good for stitching 32p footbags. They are stretchy and fray and difficult to work ith in general. I suggest some kind of upholstery suede from the scraps bins at fabric stores to practice on. With the pattern generator, I think 0.8", 0.9", and 40% is easier to work with than the panel pack we sent you. It was an older version of the panel pack that I had sitting around extra. We've since revised those templates to make it easier for newbie stitchers.

Best of luck!

I got the bags and the 32 stitching pack you guys sent me, and I can't wipe the smile off my face. Now I'm going to be a camwhore and take pictures of how happy I am with these bags in my hands! And most definitely I'll get to working on those sizes for my templates, and spend a few weeks finding a consistent stitching style. With more training with suede and my running stitch, I might touch on the 32 panel pack you guys sent me and make a bag out of it. :o

Also, my stripey blue Lavers from Lon Smith and the shredilicious crochet bag his grandma made just came in on Monday. They're freakin' awesome!!! I don't think I'll be getting Climas soon if I keep getting Lavers and G-units!

Almost getting pixies and fairies to hippy-style. I'm excited!@ Atomics are still a long way from going hippy.

I finally found a fabric store around NYC, and in a way I found some facile in a lightish pink. It was all mixed up with regular Ultrasuede so there wasn't much colors to find in terms of retail. And the scrap bin didn't show much promise for what I needed. I managed to get the lightish pink, with Ultrasuede orange and lavender to work on for the coming two weeks. I just printed the patterns just last night at the college, so I'll be working on a 32 soon.

So far, my running stitch is looking good, but I'm probably going to need a sharp needle. I think I'll ask my grandmother for a Glover's needle, as she has a bazillion types just stabbed at her thread bins/cones/whatever you call them. If not, I guess I'll look around the city for something close.

To tell you the truth, I'm stoked, especially from feeling the pink facile. I can even order black pony from this store (PC named cowhide), so it just opens up a huge world of "novelty bags" I might send out just for fun. I guess I'm thinking ahead of everything now. I just can't wait to get stabbing!

For shred, on Saturday, Ken Somolinos came to visit the NYFA crew at Union Square. It was warm and perfect for shred indefinitely, and having Ken showing just made the experience that much more breathtaking. Ken David was laughing his ass off in astonishment, much like most people at Union Square. "That guy can hack/can play hacky sack!!!" I kept on hearing from the crowds. It was really wild with the exception of a street performer taking our space, and Ken bailing in the middle of his shred. Hope he gets better for the coming Saturday if he plans to play.

I'm thinking of new strings lately, and I'm definitely working on Fairies lately. Just need to get in on a closer set. In time I might pull off a Fairy Smasher or a Fairy Beater one of these days. Just a note: barefoot shred put a bump on my learning curve for pixies and fairies. :?

Funniest thing happened today! I was schooling Fairies in my living room with my 8-month old nephew (in the care of my father and grandmother), and the little guy laughed like crazy when I nailed a good set! Can you believe that!?!?!?!? I AM SO TEACHING HIM THE WAYS OF FOOTBAG AT AGE 10-13!!!!! This is definitely one of the highlights of my life. The amount of cute cannot be described as I post this. Seriously, this nephew of mine, Tyler, is going to love Footbag under my guidance. I'm stoked!!! :P :P :P

Nailed illusions consistently today, and a couple of pixies to boot. I'm getting the feeling for uptime now. Clippers are awesome as always, and I'm getting the feeling for consistent flipside clippers. Butterflies are like sauce to me, but I'm not so much as confident to school paradons yet on my strong side. Just can't get that second dex in.

I think I'll go to flipsider and a couple of other trick media sites to make a list for me to work on. Call it homework for me. I'm so hyped about footbag it's not even funny! Thanks Tyler, for being my favorite nephew!

Rubber cement????!? No man, you need to use fabric glue. That's the best sealant in my opinion.

I also thought I'd mention your pseudo cameo in my dream last night. Please don't take this as an insult, cause my dreams are really just random and meaningless. Anyway, here's my dream:

I was at my old house in New York, and was either helping people move out of it, or we were sheltered there waiting for something. There was a sort-of-cute girl there who was helping us move, and she was really flirty with me. She reminded me of a crazy girl I dated in college, which really put me on the fence about how I should react to her. Should I flirt back, play it cool, what? Then she mentioned that she had just had a bad break up. I sympathized a little bit, but at one point when she was explaining the details of her break up, she slipped out the name of her ex by accident: WAYLON! 8O I was like: "Waylon Lew?" And she said yeah. Once I heard that she was your ex, I totally lost interest.

Weird dream eh?

Yeah, I'm definitely trying to play clean until my nephew loves to see me drill super fine. He's the best.

Yeah, rubber cement sucks. I'm going to need to find fabric glue, but I don't know where. I have the patching tape that Peng sent me with her bags for temporary relief. An no problem, Ken. I'm a lady killer. Not really. Crazy dream, though. Don't have me get in the way of your search for hot girls.

Nothing much to post today. It's St. Patrick's Day! Will be posting details soon.

*hic* I started drinking at noon today. *hic* I love St. Patrick's Day.

BTW, patching tape is perfect. It sticks, is easy to work with, can be trimmed to fit over an entire panel if you want it to, won't wash off, feels like facile, flexible, durable, and I colour mine with sharpie to match the colour of the panel. :D

But if you want to work with fabric glue, good luck. It sucks for bigger holes, but small pinholes it works pretty well. You can purchase it at all major sewing/craft retailers. I'd bet walmart sells it.

I'm pretty frickin' wasted right now, but I'll do a post to show my feelings for this special day now.

St. Patrick's Day Write-Up

Today was a pretty breezy day, although not very cold to NYC standards. It had a small element of Spring to warm the soul, but chilly that you'll need a coat to be comfortable. Anyway, I had to go to the Dentist today to fix a filling that chipped. A pretty quick 15 minute job, along with a stern warning that I should remove my Wisdom Teeth as soon as possible. I'll be making an appointment sometime in Spring Break, hoping that my insurance doesn't expire just yet at a bold age of 21. Also, i went to the local Book-Off, a japanese retail store that sells japanese literature/manga/music/DVDs, and bought myself a copy of BUMP OF CHICKEN. The album is Yygdrasil and it has a pretty artsy charcoal drawing on the cover. I loved listening to it immediately, but it didn't have my favorite song Tentai Kansoku. Oh well.

I went to my college to visit a few compadres. Went to the local Hillel/Jewish club to see what was going on. My friend John offered me some Moonshine that his neighbor made in his basement. Tasted like a huge wake-up call when it burned down my esophagus, although I had a blast with a few swigs. However, it didn't get me that shitfaced just yet. :? I went on modified, posted a few times, went to Footbagchat, loved Millzilla's Rainbow Roll bag, and planned to send payment ASAP. I went on listening to BUMP OF CHICKEN with nonchalant infatuation.

Around 3:30 pm afternoon, I went outside to see if I can bum a cigarette from some people that I know. Obviously it was St. Patrick's Day, and rarely did I see the normal crowd. They obviously went to Times Square for the parade, or get their faces submerged intoliquor and green beer. However, I bumped into a good friend who knows how to treat my bags and loves to play hacky sack with me, and so I agreed. I only had my Docbag with me in this short venture, but a few kicks would be swell. Again, I take my pants off to show my obsession for footbag and my hawt flash red short shorts. Also, a couple of strange stares and small comments told me to put my pants back on, which I refuted "Aren't you supposed to be drunk right now?"

While my friend and I continued to play, a girl from Jersey came to us to play some hackysack. It was nice, and she was definitely hot, but two things killed my interest for her: 1)she toe-picked, which I was comfortable with since she was a newbie and told her to try and pick it up with her hands next time. 2) At the next chance she got, she literally toe-dragged with her dirty shoes and tried to grind it against the cement pavement. Like a person who saw his baby taken hostage, I cried like a pathetic fool not to do that. She was scared to the point of crapping her own pants, but I forgave her nonetheless. Plus, her boyfriend stepped up and saved her sinful arse in jest, so it was cool. Still, the sight of my Docbag getting toe-dragged on the ash-filled cement pavement still gives me chills to this day. My friend only laughed at how much I scared that girl and my pathetic integrityin saving my Docbag. I hold no regrets.

Throughout the rest of the evening, I tried to find a party of people to go out drinking with, with no avail. I questioned myself for most of my evening around 5:00pm on being sober in St. Patrick's Day and how much it sucked. Sulking, I managed to find a few friends who were also sober (although one of my pals was on Acid who clearly had an immunity to it). We had a nice chat in this sausage fest, but we were annoyed that the Hillel clubroom was locked, as well as the Philosophy room. Therefore, we lounged near the elevator like a couple of fools. However, a nother friend came to our rescue and told us that the Rainbow room (aka Gay/Homosexual Club) had a party going on, and we pretty much raided it. I met a couple of friends I haven't seen in awhile, and with the lack of beer in there I generously went out of my way to go buy some. One of my pals chipped in, and off I went into the cold without a coat.

A 6-pack of Samuel Adams and a 6-pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade (although one of the bottles in the latter was a small bottle of vodka). Sweet. I rushed back into the club room, and what did I find? A strip card game was happening. Awesome. We had much drunken fun that night. I clearly only had stripped down to my shred shirt, shorts, and socks, but most of the guys and girls were down to their underwear and bareflesh. One asian girl that I've been friends with online (but now friends with physically for the first time) was down to floppy titties and unshaven bush. She is a lesbian and still is, but I had much fun joking around with her about it. She was totally wasted for chugging vodka, so who knows if she was having fun with being disoriented, but it was cool. Did I have a crush on her? Pretty much, but it was all in jest. She later puked all over the clubhouse that night, and people were in fear of her flimsy tight-whities.  I was afraid of course for her health, but she needed a rest like most drunk people should have.

Like a social butterfly, I went and chatted with the other members of this club. Gorillaz was being played on full speakers, and we were still having a lot of fun. Yes, some of the actions later that night were perverted that I don't want to note, but I enjoyed it much. Let me just say that lapdances were a favorite past-time.

Let's see... 2-3 swigs of Moonshine in the afternoon, 3 Mike's Hard Lemonade, and a couple of swigs of Jaeger - I was a bit drunk. Not to the point that I wanted to strip to nudity and run around outside the college, but I was more charming than a few hours ago. I did pull a decent string for footbag though with a few illusions, butterflies and clippers, but my liver said otherwise. Plus, I didn't want to twist and tweak my ankle so I had to stop. I was a bit poor, so I couldn't barhop. Off to home, i guess?

I staggered off, nearly fainting on some occasion when I sat down on the train. Surprisingly, i met a friend I haven't seen since middle school, and presented to him my charm and smelly breath. Off to my stop, and to home at 9:30pm. I slept for a couple hours with psuedo dreams of what happened at the Rainbow Room, and awoke to come to my senses. And here I went to type this write-up with BUMP OF CHICKEN playing.

I think I drooled on myself.

Fin.

The NYFA crew wanted to shred on a Sunday because of St. Patrick's Day and all. I got some good tips from Drew on how to do Fairies and Illusions. I really wasn't feeling a good vibe to shred today, and I felt so awful that I missed out on a lot of catches and made so many crappy sets. Thinking that I could push and motivate myself further, I tweaked my left shin and bent my right foot/ankle into places I didn't know I could bend. Ouch.

So, I have a pretty heft injury... Time to stitch! I asked my father if he had any Glover's Needles, and to my avail he did! Plus an upholstery needle, but it seems a bit too big for stitching. I was thinking about doing 2 6-paneled bags during the middle of the week, and work on a good 32 sometime on Friday. I can't wait!

Ken David gave me a pretty good sized Facile 32 bag to have him fill up. I shook it a bit to find it was a Sand 32, but it was stitched pretty well. A Dirty Juice Facile Original? Noice. It was only a little bigger than a golfball, so why not? I have a ton of Copper BBs and plastic pellets on me, so I guess I'll work on doing a pretty good balanced filler for me. The only trouble is to get all of that sand out of the bag.

Now that I think about it, shit, I was supposed to go to a local Sports store and steal a golfball. Well, my cousins at Rockland County play golf, so maybe I'll ask them? Haven't contacted them in over a year, maybe it's good time to get well acquainted? For footbag, yes.

Crap... I think I contracted laranguitis and can't sleep. Nor can I concentrate on writing the two essays that are going to be due for my monday courses. Maybe it's stress-related? Who knows. I think I'll take the day off to rest and stitch, and take it easy on working on my essays. I've been attending with perfect attendance, so it should be alright.

I'm just worried about the mid-term I'll be missing on Monday, along with the essay that is due to that one particular class. Hopefully he'll have some heart and give me an extension due to my sickness. Seriously, I'm barely able to walk, my throat is tensing like a bitch, and I feel like I'm going insane in typing up papers. I'm burnt out and broken. :(

At least this will give me time to stitch. :)
