11 drifters? You smashed your old record, way to go!

Nice tourney reports in this blog, good work. Such a shame I missed you while I was in Sydney.

hehehe thanks dudes

Yeh the drifters felt so solid! i was surprised. I felt i could just keep going for ages! until i didnt hahaha

Umm yeh i think thats the one Ken! You have to go over the bridge from Guido's house and its in this park type place where alot of runners and trainers are? Next to the spot that looks out over Sydney harbour.

Yeah. Please don't blaspheme and refer to that as a basketball court. It has one proper hoop, which is moronically positioned at the edge of a hill. This means you can't play a full court game, and if you do manage to find people to play a halfcourt game, you have to run down and up a hill every time somebody makes a shot. It's like a mocking insult to the game of basketball. Those are netball courts with a bball cocktease.

Nice Drifter record. And mine cons. Ripwalk record is 9 too ;]

Keep shredin'... I wish I could go to Australia for a little session. Maybe some time I will. I bet there is sunny and hot now.. And here the winter is long and long, and it isn't going to end fast :( The calendar spring starts in like 4 days... But it's still cold and the temperatures are around 0 Celsius grades...

Keep shredin'

Had a good session today, i find taking shorter session concentrating on just a few concepts is pretty effective. Got a bit angry but beat that down good and proper. And gave it a stern warning that if it wants to tango again, ill give it more of the same! I imagine it like a little wall that tries to form in front of my goal, and i kick the shit out of it every session :twisted:

Anyway

* Toe drifter>Pdx drifter>drifter>pdx mirage rpt
* Drifter>Pdx Drifter rpt (pretty happy with that, it was one of those drills that i havent really tried before, because i knew i wasnt ready. Today i decided, 'im ready', and hit it starting either side)

And the cherry on the icecream, PLASTIC MAN DRILL :twisted:
Thats been my dream combo since i started playing i think, i always thought double down tricks looked sick and wanted to be good at them. A good milestone. It took more work than i probably should have spent on it this session, but i justified it as good practice for my weak Barfly.

Oh yeh and i had one of my most embarassing sporting moments tonite. Playing indoor cricket in a team of mates; in my 2 overs (16 balls) i got knocked for like 4 sixes and only got 2 crappy wickets. And in bat i was airswinging everything and only got like 6 runs and got out once.

Luckily the team was the worst ever and we scored 282 runs..... to their 4. :lol: :lol: :lol:

I think the only thing that was worse than that was my French Open 05 freestyle routine.

Played at Sydney Uni again with Dyalan, wasnt as good as last Uni session but not bad.
I hit some new tricks, like flip Fog, Pixie Torque and Pixie Legbeater, and also like, the best Mobius ive ever done, it was PERFECT (for my style anyway)

Dyalan pointed out that i should take the catch on flip stepping lower before setting it, and this made a big difference, so i hit that flip Fog. Need to consolidate that advice so it stays, and so i can start bsosing some 5s :twisted:

Wasnt able to do Plasticman again off the few tries i gave it. Tried Pdx Barrage but could only hit it THE hahah
Spinning clipper>pdx drifter bsos

At the end i got 25 butters twice in 5 min. My PB is 40 but to do 25 twice was a good feeling for me.

And thanks for all the positive comments dudes!!

Props for Plasticman - the ultimate show-off drill :D Pixie Torque is cool too, not a popular trick. I have a challenge for you:

Torque > Barfly BS and then rpt

I'm sure you can do it :D

Didnt realise its been like 5 months since i posted in here last hahahah
Oh well may as well add todays session, it was good/
Oh BTW my Drifter record is now like 28, not 11 hahahah

Good session today at Hyde Park, bloody great sunny weather!
I played pretty well, had good energy and power which was great, id been hanging out for a shred after a week of busking.

* Pdx DLO and Pdx Eggbeater bsos in same run
* Smog bsos
* Blurry Whirl bsos
* Blurry Drifter midrun
* Atom>Atom>Toe Blur>Toe Blur>run
* Mobius>run
* Pdx Torque>3 contact seal (1st attempt!)
* Symp Bubbabeater>run
* Spinning Osis>Torque
* 12 Ripwalks (new pb)

Footed Rubberman several times, and got through all but one trick a few other times. Reassuringly though, i can almost always get through first 4 contacts starting on Legbeater. Disappointed not to hit it cos i was so fucking close. Happy with my 12 Ripwalks though and my bsos Blurry Whirl!

This dude came and sat with us at the end of the session; turned out he had just arrived from Czech Rep a few days ago to study and work in Aus for 3 years; he recognised footbag and knew of Vasek and the Prague crew, had seen them on TV sometimes and stuff! Another random person who knows about footbag hahaha our sessions seem to attract them...the other day this old woman came and talked to us while we busked; turned out she was Matt Baker's Mum! (The Aussie Matt Baker, one of the original first freestylers in Oz)

Oh i mentioned busking above; me and Dyalan have done 4 busking sessions so far in the middle of Sydney, to raise money for the jam we are holding in October in Sydney. Just money for beer, food etc. to help ppl out with costs of travelling here.
Weve made just about $100 so far, which isnt bad considering we arent like, the best at what we do or anything and dont put in any effort beyond playing with music on, no show or whatever. Pretty good practice for routines! Helps with guilts and stamina. Also i think i did about 20 or so rotations of 2 bag juggling at one point, that was sweet.
