Its entirely possible to get good at footbag on your. Dave Clavens is an excellent example. It all depends on your self motivation to get good at footbag.

Oh, I don't play alone. I rarely play alone. They just are trying to get good like me , and are at my skill level.

I don't see what's wrong with just reading up new moves,checking the vids, tips, ect, until I conquer them all.

I don't believe I agree with you there... People who post on the internet are just as real as your friend that you hang out with or the people you pass on the street. I've met some of my best friends on the internet before I met them in real life. Meeting people on the internet and then meeting up in real life is basically a key element of footbag at this point in the sport. Don't be afraid to meet in a public place to kick with someone you met online, just make sure you take all the usual precautions, and make sure you meet PUBLICLY, just like with any other person you meet online.

so, yeah, definitely possible to get good on your own. I've never lived around a player that's better than me (except in the past year or so, as Aric and Chris have blown up) and I can hit some cool tricks. Granted, I'd be a lot better with the influence of better players, but you can still do awesome stuff on your own.

That isn't what I meant. I meant it isn't realistic for *me*, as in I really can't just find someone who lives in Seattle, and manage to schedule a time and play where can go both manage to reach or something like that. I have met people online who I ended up meeting in real before quite a few times.

This is a pretty stupid topic. You can get really good on your own. I play alone 98% percent of the time and it doesnt matter. And even when I do play with people I dont ask about form and stuff, we just play. People who could skool my ass like jorden play alone, johnny most of the time, and i bet felix did before anssii started.

Theres been a few concepts ive gotten help on but most of that was over the web. If you cant get good on your own then you lack the will power that youll eventually need to get ridiculous anyway.

Whoa, pal. There's no such thing as a stupid question (or so I'm told).

I definitely agree with everything else you said, though. It's just really important to pay attention to form, otherwise you'll just develop an ugly style (and have trouble getting better).

how have you progressed ? what are you hitting after 2 months? asking because i am the newbiest newber ever to newb footbag, my lavers havent even arrived yet and all i work on are delays and possibly a clipper or two and its been 2 weeks ish.

now is a great time to remind you, as im sure you already know, EVERY footbagger develops at a different rate, whether or not they have a local footbag master that is willing to impart knowledge. there are footbaggers who started like 4 months ago who are better than me, and (it took me awhile, but...) im perfectly fine with that. there will pretty much always be someone better than you, and pretty much always be someone who is developing slower. learn by their examples and dont compare yourself to other baggers. but it is great to be genuinely interested in other shredders game, see how they're doing, find out what they're hitting. thats what the community is all about!

Well i can do almost all 2 add tricks and combine them in little strings of 10 trick's(thats my max result) and a few 3 add's like umm butterfly and a pdx mirage and thats all i geuss.I can do a dragon delay.And all the trick's are both sides i think that it is important and i school both sides trying to eliminate a flip side.

My goal is do to long strings with bsos trick's.Also i started learning an unussual set - pendulous i did pendulous cliper today and a pendulous flying cliper kick

I didnt play with another shredder until 6 months of playing seriously. I think that learning on your own really helps you develop your own style, but it is a slower process.

Never said I couldn't get good on my own.

If you think you can do about every single thing out there on your own within a reasonable time, I'm going to disagree. I was just making sure Footbag wasn't one of these things.

Well, I'm not scheduling to do a weekly chess practice with them from time to time and have my parents drive me there and everything. That's just weird. Hence it isn't realistic. Hard to explain.

Well it can be hard to meet up with other shredders if they live far away. It can be hard to meet up with other chess players if they live next door. Anwyay it's definatley good to meet up with other shredders for a kick.

By the way do you play internet chess?
