Josh M. Getting back into the kick of things!
Well, I've decided to start up my blog.
My name is Josh Munstermann, I'm 18 (6 days until I'm 19), I live in Phoenix Arizona. I started freestyling about 2 years ago but quit for a year. I just got back into kicking again in December.
I have hit a couple of guiltless runs but I'm not that consistent. Right now I'm working on my flipside and progressively getting better.
My favorite move(s) right now are ripwalks and symp mirages.
My hardest move(s) right now are torques and fs ripwalk.
I just got done with a little shred session right now and I was working on getting drifters in my runs. One run I got was: drifter > ss butterfly > op butterfly > osis > ss drifter. I couldn't get the last drifter to another move but I'm working on it. I also worked om my flipside ripwalk and hit it a couple of times.
Thats all for now.

Well I've been kicking on and off for the last 4 1/2 hours. Working on my flipside stuff more or less. I can get my fs ripwalk pretty good now, still needs a lot of work though. But my butterflies and clippers on my fs are looking better now.
It's now time to see if I can go ripwalk > ripwalk.

playing lately has been really hard, being sick sux ASS!!!!!!!!!!! But anyway I'm getting better and I'm going to shred later on today after work.
Midterms really suck, I woke up today and was exhausted, I did 30 min of studying last night and it wore me out. The after my first class I had 2 hours to spend, hopped on a computer and watched Robot Chicken for the first hour, the next 50 min or so before my class I was going to study. I couldn't do it, my mind just wasn't going to let me. When I got to my class, got the test looked at it, it was so freaking easy.
back to footbag, tonight when I kick I guess I will skool a little more on my flipside, my fs clippers are almost as good as my strong side so it's sweet. The last time I played I almost sealed ripwalk > ripwalk rpt. maybe I can get that today.

ripwalk > ripwalk > clip > butterfly > os butterfly
finally sealed rip > rip
osis > osis x 20
and a lot of skooling my flipside clippers
Today's my birthday
, and that was the only time I was able to shred, I'll shred tomorrow if I get the chance
finally sealed rip > rip

I got my climas and nastases all modded, the nastases are a little bit heavier than lavers but they kick better. Haven't tried my climas yet, letting the chaulking cure awhile.
played for about a 1/2 an hour or so, finally got dlo and multiple times one sided though
. Don't have a good enough set from my fs clipper to try for dlo flipside yet

Here goes my try at a long post for everyone.
Saturday went down to Tucson for a Founders day event, where the founder of Unity Footbag had a table set up for we could demo freestyle. There was four shredders there, Mike Jauss (mrjauss on modified), John Baldwin, Sean McKiernan and myself. All of us are members of Unity Footbag.
When Mike and I got there, John had a bunch of kids playing and they all seemed to be into it. For a warm up we kicked with the kids, when there started to be too many of them we broke off into two groups. After awhile the kids wanted to kick by themselves and not with us. After they started to kick by themselves we started to really warm up and shred.
Mike didn't really need to warm up, he started with a little tiltless run. But soon he started to get everything down and was hitting tiltless easily and getting a couple of guiltless runs in also.
John had been there since 8 am so he didn't need much time to warm up, neither did Sean who got there awhile after John. They both were hitting good runs right after we got there. Sean's main moves were all fairy sets, and after a little talking to he started to work on his flipside, and also on clippers and osis. He is getting better and will with lots of practice and kicking with John. John was already hitting his pixie sets and getting good guiltless runs in. The bad thing about John is that he burns himelf out. He actually did a pretty decent job of not doing that on sat.
I had a sick session, which was probably my longest ever on sat. I started slow but that was due to sitting in a car from Phoenix to Tucson. But after I warmed up I was going good. Started off with a little tiltless, and worked clip >op clip rpt. After the kids left I started to hit some symp mirages and refractions. I hit a alright guiltless run somewhere in that long session, it had a couple of ripwalks in it, some dives, a couple of pdx mirages and one or two sidewalks. That was my best run I have ever had.
After awhile I started to try to hit some new moves and combos. One that I'm still working on is ripwalk > drifter and drifter > ripwalk. Those sets were driving my mad
Got a new self record: symp mirage X 5
and refraction X 4
. I had some really good infinity and osis runs.
Mike and John kept on saying through out the day that I'm gonna be passing them by really fast, really soon. I don't think that will happen for awhile. I still need lots of work
There's my essay to everyone, might kick later today if my ankle feels up to it.

It really SUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when you want to play, but when you try you can't. It also SUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when you think your tweaked ankle is good enough to play with, and you find out that you can't crank it like you normally can.
I guess I'll let my ankle rest this week, than try it out on saturday and see how it feels then. Now I can only watch vids of major shred and just wish I could be playing

Alright so I didn't play yesturday 'cause I wasn't home all day. Ohhh well. I played a little today, not much becuase my ankle is still a little sore so I probably won't play the until I go down to Tucson on Saturday.
I started a new drill today, and it's pretty fun:
osis> ss butterfly> op osis> ss butterfly rpt, It was took awhile to get use to it, but then I started to get 8-9 contact string with it.
also hit:
osis> drifter> osis> ripwalk> ss butterfly
osis> osis x 6
Now my ankle is killing,
, me. Time to take a rest and possibly ice it down.

Had some fun today before work. Played a little circle hack. It was fun, ac ouple of guys that showed up could hit flying clipper, it was kool. Every now and then I had to show off and hit a lot of butterfly's, toe stalls, insides, outsides, clippers, and all the flyers. It was a riot.
Nothing new to tell right now, haven't played since Sunday. I might shred a little tonight, but I doubt it. I think I should let my ankle rest until I go have a hard shred down in Tucson.

Well the whole Tucson trip has been postponed till either the 15th or the 22nd. Which is a real bummer!!!!!!!!!! I played a little today, mostly some of my drills and such.
I got:
ss clipper x 50, I was like holey shit
fs clipper x 15, getting better. it's not coming up and into my body anymore
osis > ss butterfly > ripwalk, a lot easier than when i first started foing them
osis > ss buterfly > blur, got once, need to drill blur more
Might play a little more, later

My friends that I play with say that I have a really good crank. I think I don't have that good of one compared to Vasek's. He gots an awsome crank!!!!!!!!
Here's some pic's from a couple of staurday's ago when I was down in Tucson. The first pic is showning that some people are still human, the 2nd is me doing a ripwalk I believe. The 3rd is a drifter, and the 4th is me starting my infinity run.

I just got done kicking, worked on control ,mostly. Got a new trick; torque. Got it crispy 5 out of 8 times. Thattrick has been killing me, I had it before I had quit, then I lost it, know I got it back for the most part. I only got it one side, my flipside needs alot more work before I can get, but I will get it soon, hopefully!!!!
EDIT: I just played a little more and got gyro legover, and I footed flipside a couple of times. What a weird move, really it is!!!!!!

Yesturday was the first day i've kicked in a week. Felt a little stiff from not playing for so long. I didn't try anything new, worked more on control and skooling the triks I do know. Got a couple of run the made my jaw drop
butterfly > ss butterfly > torque > ss butterfly > ripwalk > osis > torque drop
when I hit that first torqu I was like HOLEY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was the first time since I quit that I hit a really clean torque. My flipside torque looks like shit, I might work on my flipside stepping osis, thats what helped me get my strongside torque motion.
That was the only big highlight in my 1/2 hour session last night. I might see if I can get some video of me today and post it.

I played for about a 1/2 an hour last night. I wanted to play more but te FUCKING march that was going on here in Phoenix backed up traffic and it took me 2 hours to get home!!!!!!
Decided to go straight to shred without warm-up, got a lot of basic stuff right off. Then my legs started moving and it got good. The highlight of the session was when I hit ripwalk > ripwalk > ripwalk. Got it twice and each time I dropped it off the clipper to finish the fourth rip. Got a couple of good runs with blur, torque, stepping ss mirage, and ripwalk in them. Either than those runs, I was working on my flip stepping, I got steeping ss clipper a couple of times and almost got flip stepping osis. If I can get that down good I should be able to get flip torque, wish me luck. When I did my last rip > rip > rip combo my dad comes into the comp room and tells me "time to go to bed" and right after he says that I go and hit yet another rip > rip > rip, and this time the bag rolls off my foot. I was SO close. Ohh well.
Onto a totally different topic; I don't think I'm good enough to have people challenge me yet, but if anyone would like to throw a challenge at me I will accept it!!!

I shredded a little last night, nothing new. Couldn't hit anything that I normally could. No rips, torques, blurs, or stepping ss mirage. It was just one of those days.
One thing I did hit was:
clip > mirage > clip > pdx mirage > mirage > symp mirage
all with the same leg doing the dexing. I almost got it flip, but my clip > mirage is horrible and my symp mirage is just as bad.
Now I feel like CRAP and I'm gonna take it easy today and absolutely NO shredding for me when I get home.

It's been awhile since I've posted in here. Been really busy. The whole Tucson was rescheduled for the 15th then it was cancelled and move to the 13th of May. The good thing about that is it's the day after this semester ends. About damn time too!!! Haven't really played in awhile, I really want to, I miss it so bad!!! All that I've been able to do is minor stuff in my art class eg; clippers, osis and toe stalls. Thank god it's thursday, I can go home and SHRED!!! I work till 5 today, so I can get in a 1/2 an hour maybe an hour shred in.
A couple of days ago I got myself another pair of clima's, this time 9.5 instead of 9's. Hopefully the won't hurt my toes as bad as my other's. They're white and black and are sick. Brinard posted them down in the "For Sale" part of modified, here's the link: http://modified.in/footbag/viewtopic.php?t=12914.
They are a sick pair of shoes, thats all I have to say.
Sunshine (my 1st Pengbag) is getting pretty close to bein broken in. My Leshbag was broken in right out of the bag, ans Midnight (my 2nd Pengbag) is very slowly breaking in. I'm taking my time with her, hopefull when she gets to be fully broken in she'll be my best bag, but for now I'll stick with my Leshbag and Sunshine.
Here's my second essay for everyone to read. If anyone has any suggestions on how to past the time waiting to go to work please SHARE with me. Surfing modified if kool and all, but after awhile it gets boring if there is nothing new. Games are also getting old. Alright I'm done.
