collegate art history... THe scream Vs. Homer Scream

Post by brinard »

okay, so i got a paper due tomorrow, and i got it half done. i just need a few ideas to keep the paper from repeating itself, and get some fresh ideas

its over dialectic comparison of 2 artifacts throughout history, and i chose Edvard Munchs the scream 1893, and matt groenings parody of the scream with homer simpson being the screaming guy.

i have to show how the two are alike, and different, and also my thesis statement is

american popculture mocks its influences, such as with these paintings, fasion (the whole vintage style of the 70's becoming a fad)... etc,

ive got alot in the paper about how mass merchandising has ruined the image of the original painting, by putting it on anything, then selling it. like coffee mugs, ties, tapestries, shirts, inflateable dolls, mousepads, you know... crap

also some vocabulary would be nice.. i sometimes have trouble getting a good word to summerize an idea...

hope someone understands this to help...

and thanks for looking.
