I am more convinced than they are in my opinion. I also think in about 90% of religious people I speak to, I know more about their religion than they do.Splint wrote:Recovering Jew.
For those of you who posted that you are "Atheist" I just wanted to know if you are really concrete in your belief that their is no such thing as god. I mean are you as adament that there is no god as Christians/Jews/Muslins are that their is a God.

Atheist here.
Actually, no. I guess my religion would be Science. Reason too, maybe...
Seriously, though, I think that religion is created by some smart person who sees that with it, he can become really powerful. Everyone else believes in this religion and is deluded from that which is real. The person who created it and the people who control it win. Hey. It is true.
Religion nowadays is mostly politics. The Catholic Church is an easy example. It has participated in political struggles for the last millenium-and-a-half. Now it has HUGE amounts of power thanks to the many believers.
Anyway, enough of this. I'm just a realist. If something can't be explained by logic, it shouldn't be explained by some story instead.
I can imagine the flames I'll be recieving now.
I am definitely adamant about my belief that there cannot be a diety. Those who aren't should label themselves as 'Agnostic' instead.Splint wrote:Recovering Jew.

Sun worshipper / agnostic
all major religions are ridiculous in my opinion.. but I understand people are uncomfortable with not knowing where we came from and where we're going.
I also think it's awful that they brainwash little kids. I mean, you could raise a kid to believe that monkeys were gods if you really wanted to. It's just another method of censoring and controlling people.

This is why in my church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) children aren't baptized until age 8 (the age of accountability) where they get to make their own choice.FunkLovesFootbag wrote: I also think it's awful that they brainwash little kids.
