Arts Across

Post by mentor »

A fast production with a one of our young Danish talents!

It is filmed during ½ hour show at an event called Arts Across. This exhibition was for, with and by young artists with interest in the modern street culture. It took place in Copenhagen last weekend. Five players gave their contribution and managed to put shred on display for a very impressed but small group of audience.

The video is shot on a (semi broken) camera without auto focus (zoom) or lenses. It only features one of the players involved, but I figured it was Sørens turn to be well exposed.

He lives in the other end of our small country and came to visit for two days. Søren has just turned 15 and has such high level of style, energy and technique it is a real pleasure to watch him in action.

Yeah and the music was pretty hot in 1984, so please turn the level to max!

Arts Across!

Hey Ville, Kamil and Franck.

Thanks for commenting this video… :D

I know what you mean Kamil but keep in mind that this was an “on stage” public show for a none footbag audience! Therefore you see several 2 add tricks and more focus on longer runs visibility & simplicity than on adds!

Style has always been a highly regarded issue in the Danish freestyle history. Way more than to keep focus on the “no 2 add in your game” issue.

Actually most Danish players agree that it is better to focus on the style than the adds. Søren could easily play his game completely guiltless, but he also focus on his flow and smoothness. There are lots of cool and stylish 2 add tricks in the book and they actually makes some links more beautiful. At the same time some of them are just as hard as 3 add tricks.
how long has he been playing for ?
I guess hacky for a year and footbag for about two years…

These days he practise 5 days a week!
