Summer '06 Resolutions
Ah, what a beautiful start to the end of winter here in Canada. It's 11 degrees celcius, the sun is shining and it seems about time to get outside for the daily shred session with your friends...
...what will be your goals and aspirations for the 2006 shred season? what are your resolutions for this summer?!

I would take very long to tell you everything here but a few of my personal goals are :
- win at the Swiss Championships Intermediate (no joke I'm serious about that
)
- European Championships - at least participating winning at intermediate would be great
- Shred the Summer
get at least tripless
- Shred as much as possible at as many different places as possible
- Get a second pair of shoes - clima's would be great
- Get more bags at least 2-3 more (I only have 2 at the time)
I know that I can achieve these goals here with a lot of practice and the devotion to the sport
Keep shreddin' mates

-Create the University of Pittsburgh Footbag Club (by summer) and have actual meetings
-Host a tournament in Pittsburgh with Jame Milofsky and Ian Brill
Shred goals are hard to make so far in advance:
-Nemesis both sides
-12 fearless
Mostly I want to keep my same workout routine going. I'll be in school full-time over the summer so it will be hard...but I hope I can study daily and keep this pace that I have going with footbag.

I want to get into the swing of balancing footbag, yoga, juggling, and hopefully biking and, dare I say, breakdancing? (we'll see)
A laundry list of other, more specific goals:
- Have a kick ass Folklife Festival!
- Boost my fearless record. I would personally like to hit at least somewhere in the range of 6-8. I know I'm capable of more than that, I just need to approach it ergonomically and do what works for me.
- Shred as much as possible while A) not hurting and B) having fun in the sun.
- Make it to as many jams in the area as possible.
- Hang out with my homies from Portland.

Great topic!
I will share my goals in a sec here. One thing I want to point out guys, if you want goals that will be helpful think SMART Goals. It allows you to really define your goals and give you something tangible to shoot for. Check this out:
Specific: "Get better at footbag" is not specific. Get better at what aspect? How? What does better mean to you? Get specific!
Measurable: Something quantifiable for example one person's goal was hit six fearless (wow!). That's very measurable.
Attainable: Something that's realistic, yet still pushes you. Hitting six fearless for me is out of the questions since I can't really even hit 4-adds yet. Push yourself, but be realistic, it has to be attainable.
Reasonable: Pretty much the same thing as attainable above.
Timely: Each goal needs a timeline. Hit six fearless by when? Pick a date, say Sept 1st.
Guys this applies to school, to business, to life, ANYTHING! SMART Goals are great.
With that said...
Goals for Mr. Benji:
Attend at least 2 jams/tournaments outside Texas this year. Santa Cruz will hopefully be one! Gotta find another...
Run, help put together or participate in at least 3 Texas-wide jams/tournaments this year. We got April Fools jam this weekend! Gunning for two more this year. YEAH!
Hit a string of 20 tiltless by July 15th, 2006
Hit a string of 10 guiltless by August 31st, 2006
Hit a 5-add trick by September 15th, 2006
Hit a tripless sick 3 in time for July comps so July 31st, 2006
Increase active membership in Austin Style Footbag club to 15 members by August 31st, 2006
So that it's! Gotta hold myself to these. I'll post them in my blog when I get a chance. Mark your progress! Goals are attained when you and others hold yourself accountable!

I fail at this goal regularly but my goal is to play footbag 6 times a week. One day off is fine but drilling 4 days a week and 2 group shreds is my aim. The group shreds are going well but the drilling basically never happens these days
.
I don't really have any other specific goals. Maybe being able to hit my shred 30, sick 3 and routine all dropless in competition.

1. I want to get at least 3 new bags because mine now are pretty sad. One of my two bags is a 32 pannel sand and everyone says those suck : (
2. I want to go to my first ever footbag jam or festival and hopefully many more.
3. hit everything I can hit now on my flipside and hopefully hit osis for first time.
4. hit 20 tiltless by middle of summer!! (and 4 is my record so far)
