I can usually get any delay I want perfectly and the clipper has become pretty dependable for me, but jsut now I was outside kickin with some buddies (who dont freestyle, just the hack thing) and I couldnt bust SHIT. they dont know im working so hard (1-2 hours per day in my dorm room I practice stuff) and i really thought I could impress them. But no. wtF??

maybe things will change when my lavers get here in a few days... but until then I will remain shredding in solitude I guess. The only thing I practice are the basics but I was nothing special out there today. Ugh. ITs a frustrating world.

editL: this may be due to the fact that i wasnt wearing the shoes i practice in AND was wearing long pants (which incidentally ripped all the way down when i tried to bust something...further making myself feel like a fool)

That's cool man. Probably a combination of bad shoes, bad pants, pressure, and maybe even a bad day, who knows? Stuff always seems more impressive when you're on your own, I reckon anyway. Sounds like your doing good with the discipline, so good luck, it won't be long. Just remember the importance of basics and both sides, and you'll be busting it in no time.

both sides can suck it

but seriuosly, even in the past 48 hours i have gone from zero toe kick on my left to consistent, so i defintely am a believer in the "both sides" dogma

No matter how good you get, you will always have your on days and your off days. Keep playing 1 or 2 hours every day and your friends will soon be amazed. Maybe they will follow your lead and start playing footbag instead of going for hacks.

yeah, its gonna take time and I know that but its so easy to get frustrated when you can barely get a toe delay, y'know?

the footbag is one of the hardest sport IMO. i started to kick the bag in circles 13 years ago and sometimes, i still miss a kick (from both legs). im working very hard on my clipper flipside for about a year and i still suck with it. some ppl (like vasek) can hit it bs everytime in 5 days (i have read an interview). you just have to work as hard as you can and get a good technic and things will go on. do think that you can do everything anytime. im still working on my clipper flipside and i know that one day, they will be as natural as on my strong side. just keep that in mind. think of your "mistakes" and then practice again rpt. i hope that can help you

And don't forget your days off.
You don't need to shred and drill everyday.
Ff that is what your doing and your not happy with results, take days off to just kick. Kicking losens you up, and doesn't fatigue you like shredding does

Lol get used to not being able to bust as hard infront of your friends as you can at home.

At home, in my lavers, and really short shorts, and after warming up for a long time, I can do long consistant strings of things that are quite hard for me, and I can hit 6's... in public, when I have jeans on (I always wear lavers though), and a big jacket, and no warmup, I stick to around the world and clipper to impress people, I barely ever try to hit anything bigger than 3adds and I don't try to do long consistant strings in casual gear, because a, I will look stupid when I fail, and b. the basics are impressive enough and c. i'll get all sweaty.

Don't sweat it man, after a few months you will be able to show the basics in any kind of gear, give it a while and you can hit double atw in ski pants. It will come, and then ur friends will be amazed out of their skulls.

When i started i couldn't do any of my dexes in public because I could barely ever land a toestall with my crappy shoes, but now that I got lavers I dont even have to think about the stall after the dex :D
