footbag saved my ankle
footbag saved my ankle
today I was playing basketball during p.e., I went up to get a rebound, landed on a kid, and then landed on my ankle funny. I swear my ankle turned nearly completely sideways while my leg was still vertical to the ground. (the same position that many use including myself when stretching ankles for more flexibility.) I know that if I did not play footbag, my ankle would be terribly sprained right now, but instead it feels fine. thanks footbag. anybody have any stories where footbag has come in handy other than while shredding? peace and love

All the time.
One time that sticks out in my mind, is I was helping set up a platform at my church. We were putting these metal legs into the frame of the platform and we were all holding the frame off the ground (it was pretty heavy). Well one guy accidently dropped the leg and as it was falling toward the ground I reached my foot out and caught the leg before it hit the ground.
It was a good thing because we needed everyone to hold the platform up, so if the leg had fallen, we would have probably had to move the whole thing and set it on the ground just so we could get at the leg. But, fortunately footbag has given me quick reflexes and impeccable balance.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

ha, i do stuff like that all the time. If i ever drop something (very, VERY often) my first reaction is "Shit! Save it!" Although it's usually something as simple as dropping the bar soap in the shower, it helpsprofessor wrote:All the time.

Lol well as for ankles footbag has ruined mine, after 5 pretty bad sprains my ankle ligaments are like floppy noodles
I have obtained the inexplicable urge to catch falling objects on my feet though, I have stopped many a plate/bowl from smashing on the ground because of it.
Infact I was pooring some coke at my girlfriends house once, and the bottle slipped out of my hand, somehow I caught it upright on my foot without spilling a drop :O I bent down and picked it up and put it back on the bench, her mum was watching from the other side of the bench, so she saw it drop, and then saw me pick it up having not spilt any, lol she was just like, wtf just happend
.
I heart footbag.

thats one of the coolest aspect of footbag. our ankles are alot stronger than normal ppl. and like everybody here said, we all catch things before they hit the ground and break. but personally, when i walk on the sidewalk and my foot is on the corner and then fall from the sidewalk, it does hurt, freestylers are used to that. i hope you can understand what im trying to say :-/
footbag = almost only positive things. the only bad thing is that we can ruin our legs with impactSSSSSSSSS

I have the same urge, but it's so strong that I have allmost catched a falling kitchen knife and realised on the last second that I'd rather not.BalinorNZ wrote: I have obtained the inexplicable urge to catch falling objects on my feet though, I have stopped many a plate/bowl from smashing on the ground because of it.

I actually did that once. Luckily it landed just right on my foot.ville wrote:I have the same urge, but it's so strong that I have allmost catched a falling kitchen knife and realised on the last second that I'd rather not.BalinorNZ wrote: I have obtained the inexplicable urge to catch falling objects on my feet though, I have stopped many a plate/bowl from smashing on the ground because of it.
