No worries, Nic. I hope though that this isnt creating some kind of competition or pressure to make better videos, only a motivation to do so.
And thanks Anssi!

Hey everyone,
Thanks very much for the kind replys,
And especially thanks to Ian for making such a cool video, i really enjoyed it.
But yea, i dont live in Auckland. Nobody in New Zealand really likes Auckland, not even Aucklanders!...
I got a small segment in the paper which i thought was pretty cool, so i think i will just post it here... http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/7792
To anyone who is interested, i got given the name Red Rocket back in high school, im not sure why i mentioned that in Australia but i guess it has stuck!! I loved the rocket in the background!!! awsome stuff.
I havnt much else to say except great video Ian...
Now im going to get my drink on,

I have to say as much as the vid effects are being downplayed, I liked all of them. They bring a sense of flare and excitement to the video. I loved that sparkle thing, and the flamin' feet. The rocket was over the top too. Made me feel like I was watching a video game where Phil kept rackin up points, and filling up his shred meter, then it was like 'He's on fire!!' Shred was super-impressive and the both-sidedness was killer.
My favorite was that slow down with ripstein>food processor (I suck at calling moves so forgive me if this wasn't right). Anyway, that was a freakin intense combo. This is one of my faves to watch right now.

holy crap Ian! Nice edit man!!! I love the flaming feet and sparkling bag. Also, the 6 sequence shots in b/w was sweet.
A huge step up from your last edit.
Im glad I got to play with him so much, its funny watching my reactions of disbelief. But really, thats only such a small bit of how good he was at nats. I cant wait to see the rest of the footage.
thanks again Ian!

EDIT:
Hahaha, that sesh at the beach was probably the best I saw him play the entire time. Nic, Alex, Toby and I all turned up nearly 3 hours late cause we got lost. Fortunately, we didnt miss much. That was probably my fave circle of nats. Was it Nic, Alex, Phil and myself?
good times

Yeh the 6 b/w shots was actually him hitting Leviathan.
And yeh Chris it was Blurry Whirl>Ripstein>Food in that combo, such a nice link! I was happy with the slowmo added too
Im keen to see Nic's footage, he had the camera rolling sooo much more often than me so there will be some hardcore shit. Hopefully some more toe game?
Thanks for the replies and props everyone!

I really like this vid, it feels shorter than it is, which is usually a good thing. I really liked the split screen stuff, and found the red rocket funny (but thought that was a good thing) and I agree the smoke trail it leaves makes for a good segway. I did think the fast-forwarding was overused.

Man we have to get better so you can put out a Sydneysiders vid, I'm sure it'll only take another year or so for us to be worthy of your editing skills
(although it'll only take Guido a month or so at the rate he improves).

I disagree with this and really like videos that take a couple of viewings to take in - provided that the first viewing is still entertaining rather than just confusing.I guess that can also be a bad thing though, because essentially the film should convey pretty much everything the director wants it to convey to the audience, on the first viewing.

man Ian... it makes me sad to hear you say you're not pleased with the video. I thought that was one of the most ass-kicking videos I've ever seen!! I loved the FForwarded parts, the flaming feet, the red rocket in the background, the little computer screens over B&W phil, the trails on the footbag... it made the whole video exciting and cool to watch, even if it sacrificed a little bit of seeing what was going on. Those combos were ridiculous, and the editing with the music made it a wild ride! please make more, and please don't get discouraged, I SERIOUSLY liked that.
BRICK!

Man the video was kickass, the drum&bass really amped it up, ffwd was cool, maybe more slow-mo of the sick combos? Fire shoes and glowing footbag were cool effects but yeah I think the rocket and pop-out screens were a bit cheezy. Overall though one of the better produced vids I've ever seen- certainly beats plain cut up editing with bad hip hop over the top!
Cant believe I get 2 kick with Phil every week! ( I got toe swirl> eclipse yesterday and was stoked

Yeah, but he needs to work on those far legovers, though
Farkin awesome video Ian.
Top notch.
There ARE a few small things that I could say that I didn't like, but it's like getting bitten by a mozzie on a good days fishing... in the detail, it's annoying(?), but when you consider the whole picture, you hardly notice it.
Again, fantastic effort. When's the next one due.

I just realised I hadn't commented in here yet.
Fantastic video! So much energy, The fast forwarding was great, maybe slightly overused but that's getting extremely nit-picky
Multiple screens in the intro were good, and so were the opening titles. Although I agree, with two lines it was hard to read. The music fit the shred brilliantly, too.
Only things I didn't like were the sparkling bag part, only because it took me a few seconds to figure out what was going on. I agree with the smaller trail sentiment. The fire feet were awesome
The computer screens... dunno, sometimes I like it sometimes I don't.
They are very minor things though, this video is fantastic and as others have said, doesn't feel like 5 minutes! props man, awesome work.
And major props to Phil too for the insane shred
