Which, by the way, is how you dance to ska music.
Which, by the way, is in my opinion the best genre of music.
Anyone else a fan? Lemme know some bands you like!

I hear you, first and second wave ska will always have a special place in my heart, but I do like a lot of the newer stuff.junkyardjew wrote:Ska is good, but only first and second wave ska. "real ska" (yeah, I'm a total music snob, it comes from working in a radio station). I was into the Skatelites, The Heptones, The Specials, shit like that. I used to play trombone, so I was big into that horn sound.

bandits of the acoustic revoluton, streetlight manifesto, catch 22, reel big fish, skankin pickle, skatelites, the specials, planet smashers, less than jake, big d, the toasters and a bunch of other 3rd wave ones that are probably slipping my mind. bandits, streetlight and catch 22 are three of my favorite bands, and i personally think tomas kolnacky is a fucking genius. Keasbey Nights is still my shit, and i have it on constant rotation in my car.
I was pretty big into ska (all 3 waves) a few years back. sad to see it in the state it's in today. 4th wave will probably arrive soon enough though. i wonder what form it will take.

if there is a 4th wave someday (like for punk and the music related to it), i hope its just gonn ba faster and faster and faster. so its gonna be happier (even if its already very happy). i just dont wish emo dudes come to ska to cry on happy music lol .... and for "bandits" do you mean rx bandits ??? i know the name but i dont know the music at all. is it the same guy ??? cause i know that streetlight manifesto is the old singer of catch22 .. just wondering if its the same dude.
i just typed "ska bandits" in google and went to a ska band named "The Jurassic Ska Bandits" and i folloed the link to their myspace account .. its pretty good

I'm talk about Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution. The story is, Tomas Kolnacky left Catch 22 and went to art school, and later formed Streetlight Manifesto as his main project, taking 3-4 old Catch 22 members with him, and Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution as his side thing. They have only released a 5 track EP so far, and you can check out all five songs here: http://iguessimfloating.blogspot.com/20 ... ution.htmlif there is a 4th wave someday (like for punk and the music related to it), i hope its just gonn ba faster and faster and faster. so its gonna be happier (even if its already very happy). i just dont wish emo dudes come to ska to cry on happy music lol .... and for "bandits" do you mean rx bandits ??? i know the name but i dont know the music at all. is it the same guy ??? cause i know that streetlight manifesto is the old singer of catch22 .. just wondering if its the same dude.
You'll recognize track 3 as a cover of the first song off Keasbey Nights, with a slightly modified name.
Supposedly their is a lot of animosity between Tomas and Catch 22 still.
