Some tips:

Don't just search for a flight to Frankfurt. Try other major cities such as Dublin or London to find the cheapest flight into Europe. The reason is because all over Europe they have low fair airlines that can take you to just about anywhere from as cheap as 20 euros.

Hostels are cheaper then hotels. However. i heard that in frankfurt, there aren't many hostels other then outside of the city. I don't know if this is true or not. But the alternative is to get more people then the hotel allows in one room and split the pay.

Other things that can greatly cheapen you're expenses are how you eat. If you go to a restaurant(fast or formal) for every meal for the week, you'll pay alot more. What I did for worlds last year was buy a liter of apple juice every morning from a convience store for 1 euro and other various foods for cheaper.

http://www.travelcuts.com everytime i have gone to europe I have found ridiculous rates since it is Student owned by the Universities. Right now its like London return for $299 CDN. trust me its worth going to this but better to call the location cause the quotes on the web are much higher than when in person.

about accomodation:

for those who want to save money - there is going to the possibility to sleep in classrooms for 5 euros a night during worlds - bring your sleeping bag n mat!!! (doesn't get much cheaper than this)

about flights -
frankfurt is one of europes biggest airports, normally you shouldn't have problems finding an affordable flight.

flying first to another city in europe and then on with a cheap-o-airline, might get quite complicated cause they generally don't fly from the same airports. so you might get into time trouble or t gets expensive again (eg. getting frm london stansted to heathrow costs like 30$ each way if i remember it right, count in another 100$for the cheap flights, and also around another 30$to get to and from the frankfurt cheap-o-airport.
so find out what the details are before you just book flights with 2 different airlines.

my suggstion: try to find a cheap flight to berlin, then join us to frankfurt and afterwards enjoy the post-worlds footbag week in berlin (more details on that coming soon, but i promise it is going to be a kickass-chill-grill-shred-party-week!)

It is a little bit of problem for me due to my exams which happen right before worlds but I live 40 minutes from duesseldorf airport and so if you fly to duesseldorf you can sleep at my place and I will take you to Frankfurt with my car.

Duesseldorf is about 2,5 hours from Frankfurt.

$1,500

This will cover the one thousand dollar ticket plus travel food and lodging.

2 weeks.

Do it.

This worlds will be "The One"

I might even go. But I'm waiting for the Hawaii Worlds.

i think 500 is prolly too much -

i'll try to sum up costs if you always went the cheap way...

daily costs:
accomodation: minimum of 7 nights of 5 euro each
7 days food, 10-20euros per day. (you might even manage below 10 euros a day, but i gues that'd be quite a hassle)

sums up to 100-180 euros

worlds registration:
i guess 50 euros,
including public transport for the week (if it is correct what i remember what phipson told me)

another 10 euros, for public transport before and after worlds (getting to and from airport)

that would sum up to a total minimum of 160-240 euros

if you want to get drunk every night you can definetely do so for less than 10 euros a night - adds up another 70 euros (although i don't assume everybody will do so EVERY night)

also you might want to do some sightseeing or so, i dunno if the partys are going to be for free during the week, but i assume they will.
but add another 20euros

another 10 for the worlds tshirt
another 25 for a new freestyle bag (just in case, should be enough stitchers around)

that would be another 125
so you'd be at roughly 280-370 euros including partying, tshirt, some sightseeing and a stitched bag...

multiply by 1.2 and you have it in U$ ... so a total minimum of 190-290 $, or including lots of shit about 340- 450 $$$ .
plus your flight.

edit: forgot berlin : we will make a .org anouncement and post here soon as well with more details on what we'll think the berlin week will cost, but prolly around 10euros per night in a really sweet hostel, and food is cheaper than in frankfurt, so i'd say 5-10 euros for food. adds up to 100-140 euros for a week plus other expensenses.... we'll let you know about he daetails, also we are looking into getting a group discount for the transport from frankfurt to berlin... should be affordable as well

concerning the cheap-flight method: if you find a flight from dublin/london/whatever to Frankfurt-Hahn and this flight beeing cheap at the same time: book it. the costs to go from Hahn to frankfurt are - as far as i remember - 7 euros for the bus, which is driving all day.

I wanna go so bad.

I'm vommitting up gigantic lakes of regret for not being able to attend this year. I just can't do it. Too much money, even with that cheap part thrown in.

EDIT: Which reminds me, I'm small and cute, and can fit easily into carry-on luggage.

I'm also a really sweet guy.
