Leather Lavers

What kind of mods should be done to get them into top playability? Are there any guides out there, or could anyone give a quick step-by step?

The old flipsider site had a tutorial on it, not sure about the new one. Basically, just be careful and cut the outside leather of the toe box and inside surface.

Very similar. Tutorials are a must if you've never done it before.

check the bags and equipment section, and at the top, stickied is a tutorial on shoe modification and such. leather lavers should be in there... if not, the goonit mods are almost the same.

I have done the mod.

Its not too hard, you just gotta be careful not to go through the canvas. you probably WILL go through a couple of times, but only minor holes near the edges.

take an exacto knife and cut along the edge that runs along the strip that holds the eyelets, or lace holes. Cut very shallow, and make many cuts, and check after each one to see when you've gone through. Then make that cut wide enough for a butter knife to get through. Then, poke that butter knife in there and separate the inner layer from the outer leather. That will make it easier to remove the rest. Trace all the way along the leather eyelet strip, back along the leather toe cap, down to where the sole meets the leather and along the sole, then up the diagonal stitch back up to the eyelet strip. Repeat a similar process on the toe, starting along where the leather meets the tongue.

Badabing. remove 1 or 2 eyelets if you think that's your thing (I recommend it, but discuss with others and decide what you want). Lace as you choose. Shred.

Props for getting lavers so soon after starting. I hope you get an awesome bag soon as well.

Sandbags are coming soon, they'll hopefully tide me over until I can get a nice 32.
